Galway probably lost that in the first quarter, dropping Mannion deep didnāt work, limerick picked off scores easily enough working the ball up the field with little pressure on them while Galway compounded this by hitting some really poor wides and gave Limerick a 5 point cushion.
They were every bit a match for limerick once they went man for man but ran out of steam in the last few minutes. Would have been interesting to see if Galway had gone for it from the start and had a 2 or 3 point lead heading down the final stretch rather than it being a level game. Limericks composure was always going to see them win in the scenario we had today but would have been interesting to see if it would have held up if they were chasing the game.
Over the 70 minutes they just about shaded it with Reidyās cameo being a real difference maker
