I know, but thereās probably around 9.7 players Limerick would prefer to have the shot than him. āThereās nobody else Limerick would want in that positionā¦ā
Iād imagine itāll be like 2019 in the box office Leinster Round Robin. All of the 4 big guns will face both the opportunity of advancements and the threat of elimination going into the final series of games.
Munster will probably be done and dusted after three rounds with just a series of dead rubbers over the last two rounds.
That was the best performance from this Limerick team that I have seen. Down a few hall of famers and being pushed by the pretenders. They were excellent.
Waterford really lack a specialist corner back. Iarlaith Daly was a huge loss. He seemed to be on top of Gillane before going off. Barron was a fish out of water and Kenny being injured is a loss. Limerick could afford to push Casey over Dessie after Finn had a tough time.
Prunty is over rated. A monster of a man with a lot of defensive deficiencies.
Shaun O Brien is improving at a steady rate.
DOD does an amount of play acting. It takes feom his game. WOD is a monster
Wexford and Dublin both have tiny panels that will ultimately cost them. Davy only trusting only 17/18 players for 4 years has held back their overall development. Mattie Kenny is the same.
I found De BĆŗrca to be very ineffective yesterday. Limerick are good at bypassing the sweeper, but surely, considering the circumstances, he could have given more protection in Waterfordās left corner when Gillane was going to the town. Itās not like he hurled a lot of ball as a traditional centre-back either.
Limerick will have similar questions about how Dessie got so much space a couple of times. Although he got one score on a switch with Mikey Kiely and one after retrieving a bad pass from Gleeson, so thereās not much a man marker can do about them. There was one score in particular where there just seemed to be acres of space in front though.
I was surprised Montgomery was brought on so late. And, although Barron didnāt do a whole pile when he came on, I still thought it was odd he wasnāt brought on earlier.
Gillane didnāt do much before yer man went off, he was unstoppable after that, being in the Clare end terrace we got an exhibition of forward play in the second half.
De Burca is shadow of the player he was pre injury. Waterford need Daly to step up to fullback with Kenny and Gleeson in the corners. Prunty is better the further away he plays from his own goal. Curran and Prendergast are too light to hurt Limerick. Cahill was way too slow making changes up front.
Iād say we could get away with one of Curran and Prendergast. Two of them together are too light. TDB has missed a lot of hurling in fairness to the chap and youād expect him to improve as the championship goes on.
