All Ireland Hurling Final 2014- Kilkenny vTipperary

Surely he will bring on tommy Walsh to start on Barry Kelly. He has the Indian sign on him.

undoubtedly the worst build up to an AI final ever on the internet

+1. What’s your basis for tipping Tipp?

I’ve come around to thinking Kilkenny will win:

  1. Think their backs can hold Tipp’s forwards to the extent necessary.

  2. Partly because of the workrate and intensity of their own forwards. Don’t think Tipp’s backs will get platform like they did against Cork.

  3. Think in C Fennelly, Reid, Larkin and Power they can do enough damage upfront, while M Fennelly will be key in curbing Tipp’s half back influence.

  4. Richie Hogan has been the outstanding midfield player in Ireland this year.

  5. Kilkenny won’t allow Gleeson to hit 60-yard puck outs to free men.

  6. Pat Shortt’s put on English accent annoyed the shit out of me on Up For The Match earlier.

Kilkenny by 5. Colin Fennelly MOTM.

@Manuel Zelaya, has any Kilkenny manager ever lost two All Ireland senior hurling finals to Tipperary?

If you have a good life with kids in school elsewhere it’s a hard move. If it’s Dublin you would be coming back to @flattythehurdler and youv kids that age don’t bother your bollox

Thanks @dancarter , that’s what my brother said. It is a great job, but really the main draw would be the motorway, though if it were me, as I said, I’d throw the keys of the house over my shoulder and pack a rucksack. I appreciate you saying it. I am, or have been, deeply unsettled. We do have a good life here. The weeks fly past anyway.

Tipperary 3-21 Kilkenny 1-20

Man of the Match: Noel McGrath

Jealous of all the Tipp and KK posters. Heading in to it but night and day going as a neutral.

Enjoy the day lads. The anticipation this morning. Reading the previews. The nervous pre match chat and pints. The walk up. Going up the steps to see the green of the pitch and the crowd buzzing.

Come five o’clock there will be real joy or awful pain. Embrace it. It’s a great day to be alive.

There was tickets on public sale for this during the week.

Must be the first time in years that has happened for an All Ireland final

Shocking that pat shortt never played hurling at any level. Fucking weirdo.

-Michael Fennelly will decide this game, if he’s on form the maher brothers will be too busy chasing him to dominate, if Brendan doesn’t have a bit of freedom and has to man mark tipp are goosed.

  • the third maher brother is who Kilkenny have to stop and they know this. I was sitting near Cody in the tipp v cork semi and hear him hum almost imperceptibly under his breath when bonner caught a ball at one stage. Very telling.

  • if I was the Galway residing and employed professor I’d put Corbett in on JJ à la 2010 and let him drag him around a bit. JJ has always ‘ate’ Callanan, and will so again today.

  • tipps bench is middling. Especially in the forwards. Unlikely to see the kelly retirement tour today unless they are winning or losing heavily.

  • weakest kk half back line in many finals. Tipps main hope lies here.

  • I’m getting a ticket off a tipp lad, he wanted to meet me at the red cow at 9.30am, 9.30 in the fucking morning in clondalkin, roaster alert!

Although I find it hard to believe, I was told that the GAA ticket office opposite Gill’s were selling tickets before last year’s drawn match.

Kilkenny will most likely win this as history as shown that every team that has beaten Limerick in a semi since 2013 has gone on to win the final.

Gone through portarlington now.

Lads enjoy it, best day of the year, should be a great game. I can’t decide who’s going to win it, so close between them. Hope ye all have a great day.

I’m afraid you may be right.
I think you are underestimating the Tipperary backs though.

If you watch the game in tblisi (whos playing by the way?) over the post match analysis you’re not really irish
