I think the Cork fans were on edge all weekend looking back.
It was alluded to on Saturday night, how Tipp dominated the Dublin pub scene. One or two Cork jerseys came into Ryans at one point but almost immediately left when they saw the sea of Blue & Gold.
Sunday morning on Talbot Street seemed to frighen them too. Thousands of Tipp lads sticking their chests out. A clear message that the day was going to be different. They werenât down in the Pairc anymore.
Up North Circular road and The Big Tree/Hogan Stand pubs thronged with Tipp people. The ROAR when the Tipp bus flew past.
They were beaten before the ball was thrown in really.

Agreed. Not to jump the gun or anything but thereâs more in this team for sure as the current panel as it is.
1964/65 since back-to-back All-Irelands. Itâs a genuine target youâd think, and good motivation, hopefully not allowing for a big fall-off next year. Just a sick one that a very good team will fall out at Munster stage, so youâd never know.

Tipp will have business taken care of nice and early in the 2030s. Remember the Tea Leaves Principle - 2031 is an absolute nailed on Tipp All-Ireland. It falls under the six year sequence of 65/71/89/01/19/25 that Tipp love. And it falls under the âitâs lucky for Tipp when the year ends in 1â sequence.
Corkâs main consolation is that under the Tea Leaves Principle, 2026 is a favourable year for them. Cork like All-Irelands in years ending 6, winning in 1926, 1946, 1966, 1976 and 1986. The last three Cork GAA teams to lose two All-Ireland finals in a row have won the All-Ireland the following year. Any time Armagh win a football All-Ireland, Cork win the hurling two years later. Cork have a history of winning in World Cup sequence years. 1942. 1946, 1954, 1966, 1970, 1978, 1986, 1990. The Barryâs tea leaves are there for them as they were there for Tipp in 2025, they just have to read them.

is there anything to suggest that Tipp team is different to others in that they wont go and lager the absolute fuck out of it to the extent that they will completely compromise the chances of back to back?

Bookies have them 15/2 I saw. The next time they win it in a few years theyâll go back to back. Every team will fancy themselves next year. Could easily be a Limerick Clare final

64 was the last time Liverpool won the league and Tipp the championship in same season.
