All Ireland Hurling Semi Final Cork v Tipp
Gleeson was never as good as Cummins.

Darren Mac has all a keeper needs and has proven himself plenty of times at underage for Cork and in the Fitz with UCC.
Plenty in Tipp would have told you that he was an outstanding keeper. He has struggled with the step up. Until Darren Mc proves it at senior championship level the point is moot.

Donal Touhy and Timmy Houlihan were outstanding underage and Fitz keepers for what its worth. Darren Mc could well be Cork’s greatest ever keeper in time but until he actually plays championship we won’t know

Ya but showed you that’s lads were proven and then you say " but they lost" or " they are only cover".

James Rodriguez failed to win the World Cup with Columbia, is he still unproven?

And all subs are “cover”. Although Henry Shefcunt would hardly qualify as that now. He is more a distraction. And not one that will fool cuter types like Cork and Tipp.

They’re cute whores down there alright.

If Tipp had O’Mahoney and Cahill fully fit I would give them a good chance here but without them they are weakened at the back and I think Cork will have too much for them from 8 to 15 and will shade it

Cork seem to have plenty of keepers coming through. Collins the Cork minor and 21 keeper this year is very highly regarded

jez I haven’t seen much evidence this year to back up the theory that Gleeson was\is better than Cummins!

I regarded Egan highly when he came on the scene, a fine hurler. His loss of form is disturbing & a real pity.
The Cork Senior Hurling team to play Tipperary in the All-Ireland Semi-Final at 3.30pm on Sunday in Croke Park will line out as follows

There seems to be a lot of talk about our bench apparently Conor O’Sullivan one of the best corner backs in the country and Stephen Moylan a fine impact sub are proven at this level they say. What nonsense! All of the fellas on that bench wouldn’t weaken the team in anyway.
Moylan played very well to the end of last year.
Conor O Sullivan in teams of the year last year before the final.

Nobody has outstanding subs these days.
Oh but we do Kev. Were a 20 man team as Hoggie said.

He was solid enough last year up until the two all ireland finals. The half back line is better at the moment without him.FFS our bench is unproven we don’t do unproven hurlers in Cork.

is that the under 21 centre back ?

definitive internetting there kevin.
william egan played extremely well for 15 to 20 minutes against dublin last year when cork really needed someone in the first half in fairness to him but other than that he has been ordinary most of the time and he gets blocked down far too much
conor sullivan is gone from the cork team because despite the talk about his skill levels he has an unreliable touch. he was marking conor mcgrath in the replay last year and got caught badly for two goals
coughlan is light , extremely left sided and stops to hit the ball. other than that he is great

eoin cadogan is a strong physical player who is a poor hurler but offers a lot in terms of drive and commitment

so you are admitting that you have no basis for saying that these lads are good intercounty players beyond the fact that JBM has picked them

Yes. More of a corner-back.

Cork by 2, Cork to win the All Ireland.

Watch your spelling there. They may well be cute hoors, but if you can find a cute Tipperary whore, I’d be very surprised.

Agreed, he is a weak link. But he is an unbelievable club player for Portrue and many thought that he would make the step up quite easily. Hence my point that until Darrren Mc actually plays Championship for Cork people cannot be proclaiming him as a quality I/C keeper or better than Nash

Completely correct Puke, but Darren Mac has played plenty of underage inter-county hurling and I’ve never seen him make a mistake.

That’s possibly the stupidest post ever.

Can someone please bump the thread where Kev was bullshitting on about how him and his mate gave Pat Kerwick his nickname because he crashed his mates “Festy”. That was a great backtrack, probably belongs in the millionairre thread
