Case of they donāt need to score them because they rack up such high points totals but they scored two the last day and in the finals last year when they went looking because they needed goals they scored 6.
Anyway as the Limerick - Wexford thread showed you can make a logically convincing argument as to how a game might or might not go but the game isnāt played on here and all that theory can look very silly.
If Cork have their best players fit and available on the day then I think they have too much for Tipperary. Tipperary looked tired in last 10 or 15 minutes against Limerick and same happened to Limerick against Cork. If Cork get to half time at parity or in touching distance of teams they usually have more gas in the tank in the second half to win and are similar to Dublin footballers in that respect.
Corkās form line is way ahead of Tipps.Just how good are Galway/Dublin? If Bonner Maher is quite who wins possession in the Tipp forward line? One thing that could totally fuck up Cork is if Mayo/Cork ends in a draw or AW picks up an injury. Or if the Prof goes down the tactical route and ends up like the league 1/4 final with a one man fullforward line/ sweeper . Cork hadnāt a clue how to play it
Kilkenny to win if it works out that way. I donāt think it will though. I see Cork being to strong for Tipp with them going on to beat us comprehensively in the final.
Cork to win. I dont think Tipp have really beaten anyone of note so far either. Dublin were hanging in there for a long time yesterday until that second goal. I think Dublin were really poor this year, which puts our defeat to them into perspective too. Aidan Walsh will be key though at midfield. Tipp are finally getting it sorted there with McGrath and Woodlock, so as long as Walsh gets through the football and is good to go, thatāll have a big bearing on the result.
Wexford truely franked Corkās form line.
Just how good are clare/Waterford?
Cork beat Limerick.
I doubt it KP. The age profile of a lot of their better players is at the wrong end of the scale while the talent necessary to replace them are choosing football (this wont change).
We dont have the people within the county with the experience really. I dont think the 3 selectors currently involved in the Senior setup could take us to the next level. What we need is a manager with the experience of winning an All Ireland that can make that set. But even saying that they will struggle because of the players that are good at both codes at under age level will always choose the football over the hurling. It is very rare you get it the other way around.
A great shout. He worked wonders with Warwickshire, his brother Hillary is a great keeper I played against him many years ago when he was Fingal no 1. Whats needed is a North Co Dublin family immersed in Dublin hurling to turn things around. Thereās only so much responding to BodhrĆ”n beating the Dubs can take before the message gets stale.
