All Ireland League - Proper Rugby

Didn’t they get Tyler bleynedal on board as a coach until the end of the season?

What disruption did they have

The greatest AIL player of all time was a Laois man, mate.

Conan Doyle was involved in a crash after the Young Munster game. Was in hospital last time i heard but it was serious injuries. Hopefully will be okay. Little info has come out since Garryowen tweeted it and asked for privacy for the family.

Didnt know Tyler has been involved. If the season continues they should be in play offs

He only joined up this week I think.

Something like that anyway :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Rigney ??

No.

Cheers. Id heard about the accident alright now you mention it. Hope he recovers

Season over no promotion or relegation. Season void. All cups at final shared

Devastation for Scorthy

Losers of this clearly are con, highfield barnhall and scotty.

Winners Hinch, navan ballina dolphin and midleton. All realistically relegated.

The killing fields

New structure for next season. The local leagues before Christmas will add an interesting slant on the season

A thousand times a more sensible structure

Definitely for lower leagues, makes no sense teams travelling between Cork and Belfast for a 2C match. Going forward I think 2 national divisions of 8 and 4 regional leagues of 8 below. Clubs will save in travel and gain with bigger gates from local derbies

It’s far more sensible to structure it like that but to then run the leagues in the new year and have neither promotion or relegation seems completely daft.

Suppose it’s only a once off really and half designed to cut costs. Teams will only have a few games outside their province… I’d say this is a trojan horse for IRFU who are pushing for this regional structure for years

No promotion/relegation feels like an afterthought to ensure a season goes ahead but further restructuring will happen based on those final positions. They have been hinting at a Top 16 AIL for a while that would be closed off in a semi pro format

The regional approach has to be the way forward anyway. The club here would get bigger crowds at some 2nds games that are a local derby than when the 1sts would play a game in 1B.
