All Ireland League - Proper Rugby

Possibly

Highfield did v well to get back up when they were relegated. Can’t think of anyone else who has, thomond maybe?

They did. Good to see. Actually on about keeping squads together the skerris coaches gave a great interview on the club scene pod on keeping players in the club and motivated throughout the lockdown. Will be a cracker. Worth going to if around

Highfield was only for a year am I correct?

This is thomands first attempt of getting back. Richmond went up in the 90s and back down. Only went back up 6/7 years ago. Lasted a year.

Wanderers bounched back after a few years junior in leinster. Which is a much tougher league.

Wanderers did it a couple of years ago. Very difficult alright though. It’s not unusual to see a team that gets promoted to AIL skip up a division or two in quick succession then

Yep. Every club in Munster were hopping off em too to kick them when they were down.

Yeah that was a good effort by wanderers in fairness. Hard to regroup and you need to get promoted with the right age profile

Castlehaven man?

Enniscorty will do that. Seapoint, Ballina, Cashel, Malahide and Sligo are all good examples of this. The leinster league is very strong and there is 4/5 munster junior sides that will give 2C a good shot.

Yeah nothing better. We got an awful kicking in the 00s being in division 2 and shannon were winning multiple leagues.

Nope

I’m not sure there is any standout team in division 1 junior this year.

The way it’s split into North South makes it very difficult.

Big crowd in

Tis a grand format. When cashel went up though they were 30 or 40 points better than most teams. Nobody of that quality in it now.

The IRFU are doing a great job with highlights of games this year. A good few of the lower division games are on twitter too

Crowd is in the camera side. I say 1200-1500.

It isn’t as supported as LOI but also suffers the same fight with the pro game as LOI vs EPL. Thre is 50 clubs across the 5 divisions too. We would have the largest gates every week and would have a large travelling support where we have more of our fans at games in Dublin than a lot of the home teams too.

Most games would have 300-400 at them we get maybe 800-1000 at home games

Yeah its a better format to reduce travel which is ideal on a Sunday. More local derbies too. I like the split but makes it harder to determine who will be fighting out for the silverware at end of year

Young Munster?

Yeah
