Dublin are the team of this decade.
Dominant and all as Kerry are over the history of gaelic football, they don’t dominate every decade.

I gave that a like but no way Dublin dominated 90% of that game. Kerry dominated last 15 mins of first half and for 15 mins in the middle of the second half.
Built up over a number of years.

Kerry lost their four big games in the 00s. All their All Irelands have an asterisk beside them. They lost 3 out of 3 to the team of the decade in 00s.
Now in the 10s. They have lost four out of four to the team of the decade in the 10s.
The only result that has merit for Kerry is their win over Donegal in 2014.
1 out of 8 is a shocking record for the big team.

Ciaran Whelan was an outstanding midfielder playing on mediocre Dublin teams. That’s the nature of team sports, great/exceptional players can have the misfortune to end up in the wrong era or on a weaker team. In your simplistic view of team sports, anyone who’s not on the winning champion team is a bottler.

Is Kerry’s tradition to pick up the handy ones and shit themselves against them the big dogs at their particular time.
Munster allows them to stroll into August every year and peak for that game. Poor return for all the fixture, media and officiating help they get.
Same as Kilkenny.
The same All Ireland title is there to be won every year and Kerry won five of them in the 00s. That’s 5 of the biggest 10 games of the 00s, equalling Kerry’s record haul in a decade of five from the 1930’s and 1980’s.

From a Mayo perspective, you’d have to say it’s worrying. Apart from falling apart for the last ten minutes of the first half, they were totally in control. If Mayo by some chance manage to get 5 ahead of Dublin and try and close it out from there, they’ll get beat as well. In reality Dublin should have won that game by 5 to 8 points
Is Kerry’s tradition to get beaten by the team of the decade every year and pick up the soft ones thanks to the obvious advantages they have with fixtures, officiating and media?
