All-Ireland Senior Football Championship 2016 You Are What You Eat

Why would anyone of them retire unless Gentleman Jim tells them time is up? They’re going for 3 in a row and are essentially pros. It’s a 3 team tournament at the moment so they’ve a decent chance.

I’d say there are many peeks for playing with the Dubs right now that are hard to walk away from.

They might have had enough.

Maybe. My perspective is that of someone with no All Ireland’s. But I think the mythical 3 in a row would be a big carrot.

Bastick will be the only one to walk away and his fate was sealed in replay with Flynn put in midfield instead of him and MDMA.

Good point on the half forward issues. One of the Shane Carthys need to step up in club championship and over the winter to replace Flynn. Costello will usher Brogan out. Brogan has lost an alarmingly step of pace this year.

Would Brogan lose a fortune if he retires or is his profile so big that it doesn’t matter?

When I see Supple going back playing ball with Bohs for a few quid, I question how much they’re making through Legacy Sports.

I was amazed at the lack of urgency by Mayo in the closing stages yesterday.

I know they were gassed but they were in the dying embers of an All Ireland and it was there for them.

In one play AOS walked, trotted, walked and jogged behind the play up to about half way when he just stopped. It was maddening.

Also not pressing the ball late on was mental.

Who’s he? I know that 10 years ago those powerade/lucozade sport gigs were worth 10k plus per annum so I’d imagine things have only improved in the meantime.

O’carroll and mccaffrey would suggest otherwise

what did coach Gavin say about 3 Bowls - family, work and football

My bad. I mistook jersey number. It was a bad and sneaky hit. Red in the rulebook

I know they’re a very balanced lot which is a bit sickening really. It’s like they can turn their noses up at an All Ireland while poor cunts like Mayo die for it and come up short.

I thought the snide commentary by Gavin Cumiskey in the Mayo player ratings was cuntish in the extreme.

Gavin Burke deserves a chance.

Given Dublin’s lack of depth in the half back line this year it’s hard to believe Darragh Nelson wasn’t on the panel.

Darren Daly is like the David May of Gaelic football - rarely plays for Dublin except for All-Ireland finals.

I think they will be ok with McCaffrey back next year, Small has shown he is a fine player and he will likely drop to the bench, Lowndes looks decent too.

What happened to Devereux?

Nothing about a social life or friends. :relaxed:

Burke while good is limited. Nelson is quality and very surprised he didn’t hang in when Jack McCaffrey dropped out.

Love this time of year. The Dublin senior football championship is great viewing.

Not sure why he’s not on the panel but I always felt he was slightly below what was required for top level.

Devereux is just pace. Doesn’t have centre back footballing nous.

Not sure what more Burke could have done for Vincent’s over the last few years to warrant a chance.

He may lack pace a little and is not particularly physical but he’s a very cerebral footballer.

Definitely won’t be back, in a Dublin jersey anyway
