Anything before 2014 doesn’t have any relevance to Callanan of the last two years so I’m discounting then. He scored 2-5 from play in two games marking the best defender ever in 2014 and a hat trick against Galway last year

I think he’s a brilliant hurler, maybe one of the best I’ve ever seen. Stats can prove almost anything if you dig deep enough I suppose.

Look Callanan is fine hurler but there’s serious question about his bottle. The 09 tog shitting incident was horrific. I’m not one of these people who has an opinion and refuses budge even if new evidence is available. Callanan could prove me wrong but I doubt it. He has a long history of going missing at vital moments in big games.
When you dismiss any evidence that might change your opinion it’s easy not to budge it

You can’t just discount anything that happened before 2014. Callanan shits at vital stages in big games. Lads like King Henry, Tony Kelly turn up in the final moments of big games to win them. Seamus doesn’t do that.

I didn’t rate Callanan before 2014, I thought he was easily enough bullied out of games, but I do since. It is possible for players to evolve as their careers go on, to have under performed in the past only to produce it when needed later.

Delaney was old and declining, he retired after that season because of his age. He was playing at FB too, if Callanan put up 4 from play against him on the wing it would have been more remarkable.
