All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship 2016

Ye are perinnial chokers

I don’t know chief. 2010 everyone had them written off for five or six years.

Leinster Final result confirms what?

To be a choker, you have to be good enough to compete with top teams. We’re just rubbish and we get lucky the odd time. #notchokers

I’m from a county that has beaten them on several occasions during the Cody era pal, unlike your shower of useless hatchetmen.

Then stop using it.

Provincials confirm nothing mate. Surely yesterday alone should teach you that.

Nobye choke too…just in a different way, by collapsing and being beating by more than ye should be. Just as bad.

No. I’m not using it as a compliment.

You’re fooling no one. I’ll be watching you

We’re mentally weak Kev, we all know it.

Kilkenny are badly in need of a pacey corner forward and half forward to stretch Waterford at the back. Waterford were able to keep it tight and compact at the back because Kilkenny had no real option but to lump the ball in high to a bunched up Waterford defence. Waterford were able to play a more traditional more expansive game as a result.

I’m not sure if Kevin Kelly is the answer here, don’t know if he has the stomach for the battle it’s going to be, but they’ll need to do something different.

FAO of @Midshipman_Asha, how far is Blanchfield off?

Who’d have thought we’d miss a second year corner forward as much as we do right now. Aylward’s 3 or 4 points a game is badly missed. James Maher would have been a nice option to have too.
I’m still hopeful that Kelly could step up.
Any chance Walsh off the intermediates might get a call? Goals seem to be his thing.

He came on towards the end of the Dublin match and I’m not sure if he touched the ball. He was also involved in a few of the league matches where he looked better.
He’s big and has a very direct style but I can’t see him starting.

I am a fan of John Walsh from Mullinavat, he’s gutsy and scored 2-2 in the Intermediate final on Saturday evening albeit against a poor full back line.

My father also mentioned Walsh on Sunday evening but it would be a massive step to go from intermediate to a senior semi-final in a week. Cody has made some brave calls in the past to change things up but not of this magnitude. Has he been training with the seniors at any stage

Edit: It’s hard to believe that we don’t have a nippy, wristy corner forward or 2 in the county to fill this gap or is it that Cody doesn’t really trust that type of player

Is Chris Bolger part of the extended panel? He wasn’t in the 26 in the match day programme on Sunday. Have only seen him hurl a few times for Clara and the U21’s but he’s generally done well and has a good eye for a goal based on what I’ve seen of him. Might be lacking in physique a little bit.

would Wally Walsh in the AI final replay not be as much of a big call? Very similar circumstances too.

And Ger Aylward being injured certainly hasnt helped matters this year.

I’d say he is part of the extended panel but that’s about it. I was thinking of him being one for the future really.
He’s not long back from a serious injury

Mark Bergin is seriously wristy and was definitely the top performing forward in the senior club league so far so when Aylward got injured they had to look at him but he’d probably melt under the pressure that Saturdays match would bring.

Chris Bolger is part of the extended panel.

Would the lad @caoimhaoin described as best footballer in Oz be worth a run somewhere?
