In to 5/2 now, the smart money is on Limerick.
In 2013 and 2014 I got Limerick at 4/1 to beat tip, they were nice odds.
I think.limerick will give it a good rattle, but Tipp look good this year. Thing about Tipp is in patches they play as well as any team ever played and then for some reason they drift off out of it. It’s odd. They are a rolls Royce of a side in full flow. I think Tipp of 09 and 10 were probably as good as ever played the game. They had kk on the rack in 09 and were the better side until benny dunne lost the plot.
Yes, Flatty… They have a tendancy to go long periods without scoring … they went 12/13 mins without in the second half against a very poor Cork team… They did the same against a very poorly organized Limerick team last year…the current crop tend to lose a tight dog fight and it gives Limerick a slight something to cling to, but I can see Tipp winning this handy in the end - 2-19 - 1-16.

They should hold the replay in Kilkenny, its only right they get to play it there.
The Christy Ring Cup only started in 2005 and Dublin have never participated in it.
Apologies Sid I remembered them playing Kerry in an important match and was confused. It was 2006, they were relegated to division 2 in 2005, they played Kerry in the division 2 final for promotion in 2006.
As an aside Down stayed up the year they were relegated which shows the contrasting fortunes of both since. Down just promoted back from 2B this year.
Wexford v Waterford 2014 is my favourite example of a result which was a very misleading pointer to what would happen subsequently.
I must think of a few other such matches.

In the unlikely event they move out to 7/2, then I will take it. 5/2 against tip in thurles aren’t great odds.

Limerick would want to be 5/1 before could back them for this game. It’s the most undercooked we’ve been going into a championship game in years. Keeping it more respectable than last year is all we can hope for.

In fairness a turkey is better off undercooked than overcooked.

Turkey’s never feared Tipp
Limerick v Tipp in 2007 is a good example. We did Tipp a big favour that year, they went to Sheedy, shed some deadwood and rebuilt for their assault on KK in 09 & 10 with the low expectations allowing him time to mould a system. Limerick failed to capitalise at all and you could argue that Richie had got the last sting out of them, we ended up with too many lads living on reputation and then when the necessary clean out came (although handled very poorly) we went on strike and set ourselves back 3 or 4 years.
Similarly McGrath used 2014 as an excuse to gut the Waterford team for 2015 and start again with low expectations, while Dunne has lived off that in spite of achieving fuck all since.
