Dublin beat us in 1990, the day Ireland played Egypt. 2 utterly shit games.
Offaly beating Cork in 2000 semi. Cork went on to be a top team, Offaly have barely won a proper match since
Cork v Kerry Munster football 2002 and 2006. Both times, Cork convincingly finished the job they started the previous week and signalled a changing of the guard in Munster.
Dublin v Wexford 2008. Dublin showed who was boss and who would be there at the business end of that year’s football championship. .
Meath v Dublin 2010. An exciting, emerging Meath team showed they would be serious All-Ireland contenders and piled more misery onto Pat Gilroy’s doomed reign as Dublin manager.
Armagh v Donegal 2010. Donegal’s rabble were humiliated by an Armagh team, who, while in transition, had maintained the type of professional approach and culture of success that would no doubt see them back up at the top before too long.
Limerick v Waterford 2001.
Limerick, after a thrilling win over Cork, proved that Waterford’s brief resurgence in 1998 had been in a flash in the pan by inexorably reeling them in after giving them an 11 point head-start. Limerick were resurgent at senior level and in the middle of a famous three in a row at under-21 level. Contrast that to an aging and demoralised Waterford who had blown yet another golden opportunity and had little coming through at underage level. There was little doubt as to which county would establish themselves as a consistent force over the coming years and which would fall away.

Wexford v Kilkenny 1997.
Wexford proved they were well and truly top dogs in Leinster by beating Kilkenny for the second year in a row. With the “People’s Final” against Clare looming large on the horizon and a great chance to retain the All-Ireland, they could look to the future with real confidence, while Kilkenny hurling was at its lowest ebb for a long time. With the 1992/93 All-Ireland team breaking up, no Leinster title in four years, the manager being hounded out his job and the bombshell of the retirement of their star player to come, the future for Kilkenny, on the other hand, looked bleak.

The conveyor belt in kk is coming to a halt. One or two more injuries/suspensions and the drop down in quality to the next level will be exposed.
Lester Ryan is expected to fill in somewhere in the forwards on Saturday. That’s a testement to the lack of talent coming through. Also the fact Jackie will start proves this.
The only debuts given by Cody in recent years have been to lads in their mid 20s. Prendergast, Ryan, Aylward.
