Seems the law was laid down in the dressing room post All Ireland last year. Paddy Stapleton maintains its the like of P Maher vintage who are also driving it this season. There’s a gap there, that Tipp could ram through a handful of All Irelands in if they’re motivated, and it appears they are. Ryan, like the 2010 players, saw it all before too. There’s a long way to go yet, but they look very fucking clued in.

The whole thing is opening up beautifully for them too. Cork gone, Kilkennŷ finished, Waterford still undercooked, Galway on the wane. A four in a row for the taking and the prize of being Tipperarys greatest ever team.

Hell of a carrot. Only really Clare outside those you’ve named who could provide any sort of resistance.

You’d have to think it’s theres to loose this year all right. Given the fact that Kilkenny only barely scraped passed Waterford last year and Tipp subsequent efficient dismantling of Kilkenny and the fact that Waterford scraped passed Kilkenny last weekend and Tipp efficient performance on Sunday would suggest that maybe Waterford have overtaken Kilkenny but are still nowhere Tipp standard when they are in the mood

They’ll have enough to be in that group named, but thats about it you’d say. Couldnt see anyone else breaking into the reckoning.

Still, with Tony Kelly, anything is possible. But, you’re probably right.

They might just have the pace to get away with, Clare are well setup to take on Tipp, especially if they get to Croker. Their game is focused towards bypassing the half-back line that is and has been so strong for Tipp for years. The big problem for Clare will be in defence, particularly the full back line. David McInerney’s pending return would be a huge boost.
