Always felt he was a bit of a mullocker but seems to have found something this year. I’d say in some counties he’s have been cast aside but Horan will give these type of lads a proper chance. Horan will always give a big athletic lad a chance. You can work on their skills.

That’s Jack Carney crossed off James Horan’s championship list.
Mayo are really persisting with players who dont look county standard in that 12 jersey. McHale and Walsh last year, Carney this year.

They’ve had lads in the half forward line who have looked the real deal when given a chance but haven’t established themselves. Fionn McDonagh and Mark Moran.
Fergal Boland is still on the panel as well.
Michael Plunkett has now scored two points. Like Jordan Flynn he would be in that bracket of players previously seen as weakish who Horan would be hoping to develop.
