This sounds right up my particular alley. These bucks will be slotting into current rotation, alongside these Torche-esque newcomers:
Danny Carey at a fundraiser and hears the band are doing a Tool cover and steps in. He looks so fucking happy doing it too. Guitarist nails it.
That’s lovely, although the kids watching it would do well to watch it live as opposed to through their screens. Carey comes across a thoroughly decent sort there
I’ve seen plenty of interviews with him over the years and he always strikes me as a very decent guy. He’s a phenomenal live performer too, so I’d wholeheartedly agree with your point about the phones.
Worth watching for what happens just after 6.35

Played this in the car tonight. Then played the new album. Jaysus the new album is pitiful compared to this. This may be my favourite song ever.
Crack The Skye is a top, top album. Jesus I haven’t listened to Mastodon in ages.
Their first 3 albums were exceptional. They seem to be going through the motions of late, with no groundbreaking material.
I’ve been dipping into the Opeth back catalogue this week, especially My Arms, Your Hearse. Their new work is so good you’d nearly forget about the older stuff.
If I could give that a second like, I would.
Brilliant, haven’t heard that in over 20 years. Brings me back.
Not angry, and not punk, but definitely an influence on metal.
Jimmy before he fried his brain.
