One buzzword that was being thrown around in my organisation lately was tourgroups.
Originally I understood it to mean that teams develop features and they go at different timelines. When teams come together and say ok we’re going to ship something, Team A puts forward a couple of completed features, Team B puts forward a couple of completed features etc…
This grouped set of features about to ship is a tourgroup.
Recently, senior management have decided that people can not use the term tourgroups any more.
Because nobody knows what it means and teams were using it too many different ways.
They obviously hadn’t their wagons painted on that one.

No idea what this means or what its function is.

I’m not entirely sure what the sentence meant but everybody more or less nodded their agreement and the meeting moved on.
If you are senior enough you can throw any kind of ridiculous metaphor into a sentence and get away with it.
I can only think they were awkwardly alluding to this:
