Question for me is do you have to be a prick to be a good manager? I would hope not but seems to be way to go.
You have to be able to have a relationship/work with a lad and know you are about to drop him or that you may have to drop him from team or off squad altogether. Most people struggle with that and so remain detached from their players apart from the 3 or 4 who are undroppable. Remaining detached probably means being a bit of a dick alright.
Davy isn’t, so he’s not.

Daly has a great way about him.
I like him generally but his examiner articles seem to follow a pattern - played a match against subject. . punch up/words exchanged… Random encounter years later… pints, craic was mighty… Salt of the earth… Rinse repeat.
