@cluaindiuic the on-screen keyboard isn’t as optimised as it should be for tablet.
It often covers the form you trying to type into, also fairly often it doesn’t appear automatically and you have to call it up yourself.

Is that when you are in an app or on desktop?
In App it’s been fine for me, desktop less so. But the assumption is that you’d have it docked or be using the attached keyboard when on desktop.
I still only have the Surface1 RT. Which is a bit jaded now.
Anyone know much about Amazon Fire TV?
Yes I own one. What would you like to know?
Finally got somebody using the Suface Pro as a complete replacement for their laptop (I have one other person who uses it as a secondary device). He loves it.
If Microsoft could somehow bring the price down on them (or even include more accessories) then they would be a serious option when purchasing new laptops, but at the moment it’s still too expensive by the time you have the complete workstation setup.

Have been trying to get one but can’t get it supported in my place yet. Can only use it as a (n expensive) tablet with no support for the laptop functionality, primarily because it’s Win 8. Seems to be more acceptance of Dell’s Venue which is a fairly similar alternative.
Have you used the Dell? Would be interesting to compare.
I threw the Windows Classic Shell onto the Surface so the user it’s primary interface is exactly like Windows 7 when they are in office using it as a “laptop”, but they can then switch to the Metro (win 8 gui) when they are on the road and want to use it as a pure tablet.

I initially wanted an SP3 but for the 1200 or so you’d spend you get a serious spec Asus laptop
That’s the problem.
I had been pushing for one as well. But our budget got eaten up by Macbooks and other shite.
Got a Dell E7440 recently to replace my huge tank of a laptop. Nice, light, touchscreen, works with previous Dell docking stations.
The top spec SP3 is a huge price.
I got a Linx 8" windows tablet. And it works brilliant, it has 1 GB of RAM, but somehow works faster than my laptop. It cost just €130. Perfect size for a tablet. It has a HDMI output, so I connect it to my monitor and have a bluetooth keyboard and mouse.

I see that M$ resellers are flogging refurbed surface 2s for small enough money. Theres currently a groupon for one for 250.
Then again, im drawn to the asus transformer pad
Surface 2 RT? Or Surface 2 Pro. Big difference.

I have an early version of the Asus Transformer. Hated it. I think it has improved an awful lot but mine is gathering dust somewhere.
This one is RT, which sucks balls and has been shelved.

it’s an RT
turns out M$ wanted to end life of the pro 2 and were selling refurbed pro 2s in november for $199, missed the boat on that one.
anyone got suggestions for a 2 in 1 for under 500 (would love the surface but far too expensive and then another 140 for the poxy keyboard)
looking at HP x2
Asus t200
the dell yoke

Just buy a Chromebook, practically a tablet in all but but layout
 and the fact it isn’t worth a fuck without an internet connection
Microsoft have announced the Surface 3. It’s the lower end version of the Surface Pro and a replacement for the much maligned windows RT version.
Being launched at $499, it’s slightly smaller than the pro version and runs on an Atom processor.
