Arcade fire.. greatest band this century?

That was a phenomenal gig.

It was very good. Everyone enjoying themselves in a tent at 7 in the evening, or whatever it was. Excellent vibes.

Great lineup that year. I got a few freebies on the Friday afternoon, last minute. The festival only ran Saturdays and Sundays then. Went on the lash in NCW on the Friday night, drove back to Limerick city Saturday morning and straight up to Laois. Kraftwerk that night in the tent was awesome. Nick Cave I think closed out the festival on the Sunday. Great weekend when I hadn’t a notion of going until twelve hours before throw in.

Anyone going this week?

I’m going tomorrow, I’m bringing my mother she’s a big fan.

Thought it was Wednesday and Thursday evenings?

Going Wednesday

Heading along
Looking forward to it, never seen them live before

They are incredible live! Can’t make it as we have first day of school on Wednesday morning.

I saw them in the Olympia in 2007. One of the best gigs I was ever at.

Tis definitely Tuesday I’m going anyway. Heard a clip on rte saying there’s a surprise guest on one of the nights but didn’t get which night.

I’ve seen them twice.

Once in a tent in the Phoenix Park and another time in Marley Park with Pixies supporting.

Both essentially outdoor gigs.

They should be deadly indoors but they have dropped the ball with their last few albums (haven’t heard much from their new one).

A band I’ve never cared for on record. That Electric Picnic performance (05?) was very good all the same.

Saw them the last time they were at the Point a few years ago, which was excellent. I saw that Marley Park concert with the pixies too, which I’m sure was good but wasn’t particularly memorable. In fairness they have put out a remarkable quantity of very high quality material, arguable well out ahead of of any other band this century on that front.

Saw them in Malahide Castle back in 2017, I thought they were brilliant.

Listen to it, it’s outstanding, a real return to form after, what I would agree, was a couple of albums in the wilderness.

Funeral and The Suburbs are really top class albums.

What time are they due on? Having a drink here and it would be a sin to rush it

Just landed back in the homestead.

Not a fan of the 3Arena but despite that and the recent “accusations” against Win, they put on a hell of a gig. Kicked off with Wake up to the crowds surprise. Regi did a savage rendition of the sprawl II and also did a nice rendition of The Cranberries - Dreams. They wrapped it up with American Empire.

They still rely heavily on the funeral album to get the crowd rocking but they’ve accumulated a serious amount of quality music along the way. I gave another spin to The Suburbs on the road down, what an album👌

A bit of shameless crowd pleasing there.

Signing in.

Was there last night. My first time seeing them indoors after Marley Park in '14 (memorable) and Phoenix Park '07 I think (not as good, but i dislike the Phoenix Park as a venue)

They were superb last night. As KP pointed out, kicked things off with ‘Wake Up’ and it set the tone. To me the accusations maybe looked to be weighing on Win a bit. But maybe that was just me. I had a flake of expensive pints and was in the nosebleeds. But, all told, it was a very enjoyable gig.

The tracks from the new album are very good. Cholatemice is a man ahead of his time.
