This is fairly poor. Their #8 is running the show so far.
Our midfield pair are doing nothing. Weāre bypassing them a lot but theyāre not moving enough off the ball. Hard to make a central 2 work these days but they have a similar formation and donāt seem to have much problem passing through midfield. Would be looking to put Brady in there for the second half. Heās our future central midfielder, heās wasted at left back and no point playing him there.
Front two look a bit lost, though McClean is showing for it as best he can as usual. McGeady has been wasteful on one flank.
Doyle is a busted flush, he has been a good servant but his time has passed. Scored a few important goals in his time (late winner in Georgia under Trap?) but he offers practically nothing nowadays.
Howrihan or Whorihan?
McGeady is such a let down.
He has the remainder of this game to turn it on or Iām finished with him.
Egan going off there - did well. Looks better than Pearce anyway on that showing.

He has absolutely no left foot which makes him very predictable. I suspect heās outperformed his ability so far - he tends to be quite good, but think heās probably very average.
His long throw will be a weapon for a team of hammer throwers.

OāKane looked decent when he came on. OāDowda a little bit lively too. Wasnāt much of a performance overall though. Not helped by the two up front not looking comfortable together - Doyle really doesnāt offer anything at all anymore, no harm getting that confirmed in a friendly I suppose.
Westwood - Not great. Goal went between two heads on wall side but thought he was a bit indecisive generally.
Christie - Not great. Fairly wasteful in possession but defended okay.
Egan - Okay. Harshly penalised for freekick ahead of their goal.
Pearce - Very limited but full of effort.
Brady - Put in a few decent balls but thought we should have moved him into midfield.
McGeady - Beat a man and put in shit ball or ran into a man and lost ball.
Hendrick - Didnāt look too interested in trying to get on the ball.
Hourihane - Was ignored a lot when seeking the ball.
Hayes - Largely ineffective but busy enough.
McClean - Poor in first half but was good in second half until being taken off.
Doyle - Done at this level.
Subs: Horgan put in a few good balls. OāDowda had one good run followed by a shot which was deflected away for a corner. OāKane tried to pass the ball around but his execution wasnāt always spot on. Boyle and Gleeson were fine and Long added a bit more impetus to the attack.
Donāt think we got much from that given it was such a skeleton side.
