She got shunted back at the break when fighting for position but rebounded very well. Said earlier she would need a PB to qualify (<51.91) for final so might be surprised to get third in 52.16.
Looked like she eased down close to home. The Jamaican ran with lead in her legs.
She has no hope of a medal but her consistency is ridiculous. Top 6 in the world indoors is beyond what most Irish people will ever achieve in sports but she’ll likely get no PR for it either. Fair fucks to her. Hard work paying off

That’s ridiculously harsh. The Austrian wan cut Mawdsley off at the initial break so it was only returning the favour & didn’t even stand out a little bit. It wasn’t raised as a talking point in any of the coverage at all.
