I know that mate, I’m well aware of its faults, I’ve commented on them many times. But some of the ill informed comments here are just stupid.

Great comeback m8

How are my own opinions and experiences ill informed, and they are shared by many. Fair play to you fitz, you carved out a nice life for yourself and are no doubt happy, thus possibly missing and over looking and simply not being aware of lot of the other issues here.

i met 3 aussies in 2 years that were sound the rest were major wankers, the only thing it has going for it is the weather and that its so far away that we dont have to see the cunts who live there too often

i’ll be getting that, doubt its for sale here though if its anyway negative. That paragraph sums up the petty vindictiveness alright.

Whats annoying is there are some fine balanced people here. I watch Q&A regularly and the panels seem to be well informed, balanced and if needs be self critical. The audience can be mixed, but the people who text & tweet in are amazingly racist, ill informed, stuck in their ways rednecks. I realise texters are often a bit loose in the brain department, but this is a whole different level. Aussies are always looking to blame someone else for their own issues, lately The EU Financial Crisis, Robbie Dean & Joyce have been easy targets, they never look at themselves.

what weight will you be fightin at kev

bang on again

to sum up- overly patriotic, lacking in culture, insular & an over inflated view of themselves

have you got divorced tase?

69kg, welter. Its exhibition in a Pro setup (No head gear basically). 4 rounds of 3. I’m walking around at 72KG, which is perfect.

best a luck luck and all that,if all else fails keep circleing like fuck and tire him out then smash him

dont be such a drongo

thanks, i hope he’s an Aussie. :ireland:

Ah jesus Kev, I’m not that middle class. Trust me, I’ve seen and see plenty of Australia. I live in a regional area, I work in the biggest city in the country, I regularly vist relatives in a small country town. I’m aware of the racism and ignorance. I’m also aware that while the politicians like stirring those attitudes up, they’re not representative of the vast majority of people who live in a highly successfully multicultural society.

On Saturday I helped out at Under 8’s cricket training. The parents of the kids were Australian, Kiwi, English, Irish, Italian, Russian, Egyptian, Nigerian, Aboriginal, Portugese, Scottish, South African, Fijian and Papuan. Amazingly enough, in a regional centre, everyone got on with one another.

TASE - did you have a fight with the missus?

the race that stops a nation is on today.

Unfortunately

I have no real knowledge of racing, but an Irish lad i work with says this is the Carling Cup dressed up as the Gold Cup. Anyone care to add anything to that?

Fitzy those little anecdotes are nice, but thats weekend stuff, and its really every day, at work, in the store, on the street that matters. If you can’t be happy at u8 Cricket practice then there is something majorily wrong. And of course some nationalities have carved out great little lives for themselves in pockets. The Italians in Freemantle/South West Perth seem to have it sown up and hardly deal with the locals cunts (white German/English/Dutch ethnic Aussies) at all. Myself and the misses have made a clear decision to get more involved in the Irish community, its the only way. Enjoy what the landscape brings, but stay the fuck away from the locals.

I would never argue sport is well done here either, but you can’t run a country on it.

are you kidding its great fun in the office today. the women all dressed up in their race gear, BBQ blazing outside the office. I made a good decision to work from the heavily unionised multicultural office in West Sydney today. they wont do a tap after lunch.

Kev, it is one of the richest horse races in the world anyway.

Don’t mind me, I just haven’t gotten into it this year.

Mac wants you to add your thoughts on the Sport of Kings… thread

Ya it is that, i think his point was the horses are nowehere near the standard of the other big races. Honestly, i wouldn’t have a notion. I’m off too today, mainly because of this, so we’re going to go watch it and enjoy the occasion.

Well it was the closest one I’ve seen. I have never ever won any money whatsoever on the Melbourne Cup and my record is very intact after that.
