Ya certainly a number of them. But to be honest if you do 5 days if work here it’s actually pretty hard to waste all your money on booze. You have the lads who gamble and pay for whores, but I think that’s a universal thing and not specific to a small minority of irish.
The going home is definitely an issue. It’s 10-20k of a turnaround.

How/why in the fuck could anyone spend 10k on a trip home, let alone 20k?
I presume he means a drop in salary rather than a cost
$2k for the flight home and then drop another $8k while at home to show how well you are doing in Oz.

Rent in Perth - 1200-2k
The standard spend at home seems to be about5/6k.
Loss of wages ( most lads work for themselves so no holiday pay) - anywhere in the 5-10k range.
What a lot do is leave at the end of a lease. So then they have to come back and put another couple of thousand into getting a house.
They’ll home in their droves over the next 2 Years with money in their pockets.

How in the name of fuck would you spend 5/6k while at home? I presume they are staying with the mammy and daddy while at home. You’d be dropping €200 a day to spend 6k in a month.
