Jim was on the cusp of going 2-0 up but Duzza took out a pressure 110 in the deciding leg of set 2 to level up at 1-1.

Jim won a ding donger against Scotty Mitchell last night - 5-3 the final scoreline with almost every set going to a deciding leg. It only ended at 11:58pm so we were agonisingly denied a post-midnight finish. Heā€™s a very steady player with a big future.

However Duzza has just won the deciding leg of set 4 and heā€™s gone 3-1 up. Heā€™ll be very hard to pull back from here.

Winner meets Scotty Waites in the final after the Yorkshireman defeated Michael Unterbuchner 6-1 in what in truth was a very disappointing first semi-final. But youā€™d feel Scotty has the capacity to considerably up things for the final.

Fantastic darts in the womenā€™s final today from Japanā€™s Mikuru Suzuki - she averaged 90 to beat Lorraine Winstanley 3-0. Suzuki is apparently a superstar back home in Japan.

Are women allowed into the main competition? 90 is a great average on a proper dartboard. Didnā€™t the former PDC world finalist crash out on an average of about 80 last week?

Hamilton hit an 83 average in losing 3-0.

Itā€™s a good question. Iā€™m not sure whether the women are alllowed into the menā€™s competition but thereā€™s absolutely no inherent reason why they shouldnā€™t be.

The only problem arises from the fact that the womenā€™s competition is held simultaneously with the menā€™s, which maximises the media exposure it gets.

If Suzuki decided to enter the menā€™s competition, it would probably be unrealistic to expect her to also compete in a womenā€™s competition being held simultaneously.

But the credibility of the womenā€™s competition would suffer if she was at Lakeside but not playing in the womenā€™s competition.

If the competition was rescheduled so it wasnā€™t played during Lakeside week, the media coverage it currently gets would diminish.

Great darts by Jim here. Heā€™s battled back from 3-1 down to get back to 3-3.

Set 6 went to a deciding leg yet again, Duzza narrowly missed taking out another 110 outshot, and Jim got one dart at double top from an 80 finish and hit it. A huge dart in the context of the match if heā€™s to have a chance of winning it.

9 darter opp

Tony Oā€™Shea has 11 grandkids.

All over. 6-3 and the reigning champion is in the final again. Duzza simply kicked into a higher gear from 3-3 on and Jim couldnā€™t stay with him.

We know Scotty Waites can deliver on the biggest stage, but heā€™ll have his hands full tomorrow.

Both players will be aiming for a third world title.

Game on in the final.

Both players looking to join Wolfie and John Lowe in the pantheon of greats to win three world titles, Duzza looking to become the first man since Eric Bristow to win three world titles in a row.

Has there ever been a World Final in which both players went in as multiple World Champions? All Yorkshire clash as well.

I donā€™t think so. Off the top of my head, this is the first final since 1989 where both participants have previously won at least one World title - that 1989 final, which is 30 years ago tomorrow, was the first darts match I ever watched.

It just shows the ultra-competitive nature of BDO darts. But these guys are two of the greats. The best of the best.

Duzza has taken the first set but Scotty is in control of the second. Fantastic 131 checkout by Glen however in the latest leg to bring his deficit in set 2 back to 2-1.

The champion is rightly favourite, but knowledgeable darts followers wouldnā€™t bet against this going the distance. Scotty has form against Glen having beaten him in an epic 2016 semi-final.

And Scotty closes out that second set as I type.

And a 128 bull checkout from him in leg 1 of set 3.

Be interesting to see how waites and durrant get on in the pdc this year.

12 darter from Duzza to win set 3 and go 2-1 up.

His first two darts in that leg were single 5 and single 1.

From there on he took out 495 on 10 darts.

From the ridiculous to the utterly sublime.

Heā€™s averaging 107 so far.

Scotty hits the front for the first time in the match. He leads 3-2. It was never going to be easy for Duzza in his quest for history.

Duzza has kicked on big style here. 6-3 and heā€™s one step away from a historic hat-trick. Scotty should get one back for 6-4 though.

Edit: History for Duzza. He wins 7-3 and emulates the great Eric Bristow by winning three world titles in a row.

What a superb achievement by the Boro boy.

Welcome to the PDC Duzza and well done on picking up your free prize money!

Was the prize for winning this promotion to the PDC?

Indeed, promotion at last for Duzza!

A jokeshop till the very end.
