Lovely tribute to Phil Nixon there.
Manuel mentioned Phill Nixon on the BDO thread, and sure enough the Ferryhill Flyer is being remembered by Colin, Bobby, and the man who pipped him in that greatest of World finals, Wolfie.
Always in our hearts.
Sparky Harms takes out 116 to win the opening leg against Paul Jennings.
Real darts!

The Adams - O’Shea tie on Tuesday night is going to be some showdown.[/quote]
That’s a match up worthy of the final. Just goes to show strength in depth of this competition.
Have we had heads on the block here as regards prediction of an outright winner?
I’m going for the Silverback to finally prevail and capture the holy grail.

I’ve gone for Stephen Bunting myself but I’d love to see Tony finally win the greatest prize the game has to offer.
But I’m sure Wolfie will have something to say about that.
All roads lead to Lakeside on Tuesday evening for that clash.
I’ve a few bob on young James Wilson this year but he doesn’t open his campaign until Tuesday evening. I don’t think that’s an advantage.
Good point. Certainly when you consider that he’ll likely have to play Christian Kist, who’ll already have a match under his belt, it’s a disadvantage.
Jenno missed a load of doubles to take that set out of Harms’ way. Wesley stepped in and won it 3-2 to go 2-0 ahead in sets.
Jenno will be kicking himself as he misses a great chance to make it 1-1. That’s the pressure of the Lakeside stage for you.
Sparky steps in and he’s now in a great position to advance.
Dazzling Dutch darts from Wesley Harms as he nails a 131 outshot.
Fantashtic 131 out shot by Weshley.
Shuperb Dush dartsh.
He’s throwing for the match.
Six bounce outs for Jenno. You literally need sharper darts than that to win at Lakeside.
And Wesley clinches a 3-0 victory.
Harms win 3-0.
Sadly I won’t be able to see Michael Meaney’s Lakeside debut against Harley Kemp this evening but I’ll be at Lakeside in spirit.
The very best of luck to the Kilkenny man.
The whole of Ireland is behind you, Mick.

Its a Greece v Latvia head to head to get the night’s action under way as Madars Razma faces John Michael. We’ve already had David Cameron from Canada today, various competitors from the Netherlands and tonight players from Australia and Eire will be in action. This truly is a World Championship of Darts.
Big stage nerves for both competitors but Ireland’s Michael Meaney takes the opening set.
The noise off the dartboards in the BDO is really annoying. Other than that, a fantastic tournament.
Meaney takes the second set. Come on to fuck.
