Is it true the lights went out at the Lakeside today and it delayed the start of one of the matches? They made out the players were busy “warming up” and that was the reason for the delay.
Well done Mick. A great evening for Irish darts.
It was lights out darts alright. An absolutely spellbinding opening day of arrows indeed.
He’s 41 mate.
Sure the New Zealand fellah is 58 or something.
Hon Meaney

HON THE FUCKIN LAKESIDE
the very best of order please ladies and gentlemen
The Japanese entrant Shimizu is more than holding his own against 2012 champ Christian Kist. Leads 2 sets to 1 but Kist is 2 legs up in the foruth set.
Kist takes the lead in the deciding set. All he needs to do is hold now. Can’t see him being beaten
Shimizu keeps it alive!
Great finish there.
Oh Rachel…
Ah great scenes there.
Christian wins but the 2012 World Champion knows he’s been in a hell of a match.
Hiruaki Shimizu was a credit to Japanese darts. What a character. Was that his girlfriend in the crowd? She’s really lovely. A bit like one of those really sweet teenage Japanese porn stars.
Great scenes in that last leg as with Christian over 200 ahead and closing in on the match, Hiruaki hit a splendid 180, with an elongated pause between the second and third darts for theatrical effect. Tremendous camaraderie as Christian’s girlfriend Kirsten applauded it in the crowd.
Christian closed the match out but Hiruaki will remember that moment for the rest of his life. That’s the magic of Lakeside.
Never before did I see such a reaction over a 180.
That Colin Murray is one annoying cunt.
That racist bigoted pig Martin Fitzmaurice seems to have been given the boot.
Great walk on there. One way or another!!
Just an unfortunate lapse in judgement at an event in Scotland where he told an inappropriate “What have Pakis and ET got in common?” joke. I think this was covered in the general BDO thread at the time.

Fantastic, wasn’t it?
One of the moments of the championship, for sure.
Anastasia is lovely.
:):)
Very impressive by Kong
John Boy Walton doesn’t seem to be at the Lakeside this year.
13 darter by Big Robbo to win the first leg of the deciding set against the throw.
He’s a shocking Lakeside record (8 first round defeats) so I imagine his nerves will start to jangle.
