I agree, they’re House Martins. Might be Swifts, not Swallows. Leave them alone. They’ll carry the poo away. Take the nest down when they’re finished.

I found a dead magpie on the patio on Saturday. Looked like he ran into a window or had an accident rather than fell victim to a predator.
Yesterday afternoon the tree at the back of my house was full of magpies going bananas for a fair few hours. Squeaking and roaring.
Would Magpies be a bird that holds a wake?
