From rodding the pipe from inside the house I measured the rods and they seemed to stop at the green box for the earth rod,I said to myself that no way some stupid cunt ever drove the rod down through the pipe but half an hour later there it was

I won’t speak for the man but I presume a process of elimination and possibly some rodding of the pipe and measuring the length.
Common sense lad. 
Could someone explain in lay man / sophisticated man / educated man / urban man terms what that picture’s meant to signify and what “rodding” means?
The orange pipe is connected to your toilet.
Shit flows downhill
Shit will cause blockages if obstructed by a foreign body in the orange pipe.
If this happens the shit will not leave your toilet bowl.
Rodding is the process that starts where the unfortunate @Massey gets shouted at by his missus telling him that the toilet is blocked for the twentieth time this month. Massey then proceeds to borrow a number of sewer rods from a father/ father-in-law/neighbor . He RODS the sewer to find/clear obstructions.
Meanwhile an electrician wires your house so you can turn on your TV, PC lights etc.
This process is made safe by “earthing” the installation i.e. a steel rod ins driven into the ground outside the building and by means of a copper wire clad in green and yellow throughout your house the wiring installation is connected to this rod.
When no body is aware where the drainage is laid (because the subbie that did this is long gone) the poor sparks is under pressure to finish, and looks for a nice soft spot to drive a bar into the ground. AH the backfilled area over the pipes is nice and soft…

Bandage there are certain things that are expected of every property owning man. One is that they should own and be able to operate a set of rods. It’s a horrific business rodding but it’s a mans job and the responsibility of the man of the house.
My father had a set of rods and his father before him had a set of rods. I have a set of rods too. I don’t ever look forward to an occasion when rodding is required but when the occasion comes I take my responsibility seriously.

A lovely sketch there lad but I had to rod it from inside the house by removing the toilet in an ensuite,you can spot the home owners here straight away
Was there no AJ? An oversight, or is it just where the blockage is? I’ve a sewer issue at home at the minute because the builder failed to install a rod point as well.

The problem could also be closer to the toilet as the pipe run seems to be flowing slightly uphill for a bit, just after the u-bend. The pipe also seems to get narrower towards the end.

Could you not have rodded back the way? Just to check for something obvious before removing the toilet? (Hindsight is wonderful, of course!)
