Well if you told your hurlers to laminate the fuckers, they’d get the drift.

Upstairs jacks got blocked the other day. Here’s a fix without plunging or getting piss/shit on your hands.

Put hot water into a bowel, pour into blocked jacks
Add wash up liquid into the mix
Add more hot water
More wash up liquid
More hot water, bit more wash up liquid
Leave for a minute or two
Pipes will unblock, all water will flush away

Works every time.

Would a kettle work as well as a bowel?

Sounds like making a risotto, would a ladle do instead of a bowel?

I used a big bowl that I normally use to mix when baking

Do you shit the hot water straight from your bowel into the jacks or what?

Where would you pick up a mantle for over a fireplace ? I’m looking for a rough oak beam type one. I’ve seen them in one of the big home stores but it was €300, I’m sure you’d pick one up for half that if you knew where to look.

Buy an off cut in a local timber yard, get a chippy to cut it down & treat it for you?

Sounds like a lot of hassle.

Store bought pieces all look the same. If you know any carpenter who does that work he can do something unique for you in style & colour of stain etc.

You want good quality in wood over a fireplace, cheaper pieces won’t last the heat long term IMO.

I don’t want to buy a mass produced one, but at the same time I’d like to just go and buy the finished product.

You’re looking for an oak mantelpiece for 150 quid, that doesn’t look like shit? :joy:

When slumlord @Massey is upgrading his estate next he might throw you something.
