Yeeessssss! Dean Walsh!
That was great entertainment, that fight.
Ringside well worth a watch this week. Filmed in Ireland. Some great interviews in it especially about Collins and Eubank
Big one between Canelo and El Perro tonight. Canelo missed weight and GBP apparently paid 100k to Angulo to make the fight at 155. If Canelo struggled with weight it was a bad time to do it. His stamina has always been suspect and Angulo’s is phenomenal. Canelo a much better boxer, but he hasn’t faced pressure like this before.
Leo Santa Cruz easy win to retain WBC Super Middle weight title. He says he’ll travel so looks like it’ll be somewhere in Ireland if Frampton wins next month which he should.
Angula’s corner man asked after first round, are his punches bothering you…a little bit!
Never heard anything like that before.
Canelo landing decent big shots in round 3. All easy so far. Should finish this soon.
Round 10 stoppage. Angulo upset but can’t have any complaints.
Canelo looked in a completely different class. Don’t think Angulo landed a punch which so much as bothered him.
It was a shocking performance from Angulo. Sluggish and lethargic from the off. It was bizarre seeing both he and Hunter in the corner fail to recognise the need to step to the right and force Canelo to circle to his right, into Angulo’s left hook. It was so obvious and they never did it. Canelo just teed off, and then strolled away to take a break or bring the fight back to the centre of the ring. How a pressure fighter like Angulo would fall down on something as basic as cutting off an exit is really strange. How this guy managed to drop Lara twice is even more of a mystery. The only thing that makes any sense is that they were worried about his orbital bone after the Lara fight and didn’t want to be walking into left hooks.
He looked terrible anyway, whatever the reason. So bad that JMM and Mayweather Sr both heavily implied that the fight was fixed. Floyd Sr is a crackhead and I wouldn’t pay much attention to anything he says but JMM saying it was very out of character.
John Joe Nevin making his pro debut tonight.
Nevin wins 59-55 on all three cards.
Any links for the Carl Frampton fight, chaps?
Over in Round 2. The other chap stayed on his knees too long, was counted out and then claimed he was OK. Joke.
Shit just got real, he’ll have to shit in a bucket now
Two Irish on Prize Fighter tonight. Dean Byrne from Dublin and Paddy Gallagher from Belfast. Gallagher was favourite but has been down twice in the first in his first fight and needs a big last round.
Gallagher gone.
