Kev…you are a cock! …[/QUOTE]

what a rugger bugger cunt of an expression…

Fair play Scumpot, I’ve seen the light, I won’t use cock again. That said, I don’t think using the word Cock is as bad as using the expression rugger bugger…

Anyone see the full lee fight? Heard he was getting his ass handed to him?

The ko is getting a lot of coverage. Something like that might set him up for a decent pay day next time out

Martinez-Cotto was a depressing spectacle. Sergio completely shot, his knee went in the first round and he was hobbling around for the rest of the fight. Sad to see it.

He was getting beaten alright. He’s just too easy to hit. I don’t know that it will set him up for anything as Jackson wasn’t regarded as a world level fighter. But it keeps his career alive and that wasn’t looking too likely after four rounds last night.

Huge fight tomorrow night - Canelo vs Lara. Been waiting a long time to see this one.

@Watch The Break, what did you think? Only got around to watching this fight today. I’d probably have scored it 6 rounds apiece but could see how a judge might go one way or another, but the scorecard from the third judge was a fucking disgrace. Boxing really doesn’t cover itself on glory sometimes.

Had it 6-6 as well, although if I had to pick a winner it would have been Canelo. 9-3 is crazy but you expect that in Canelo fights at this point.

Disappointed with Lara, I thought he’d do it. But he’s still stuck in that Cuban style where they’re happy to’win’ rounds by 3 shots to 2. It was a massive opportunity and he needed to take risks but he played it too safe all night.

I was very impressed by the dramatic improvement in Canelo’s stamina. He gassed horribly against the last two mobile boxers he faced in Trout and Mayweather, despite having done a lot less work in the early rounds. This time he looked very strong right to the finish. On another note there was no random testing for this fight.

An unrelated note eh? This is hardly a massive insight but think Canelo’s body shots took their toll on Lara and really slowed him down, he visibly couldn’t maintain his earlier pace and he also didn’t at any point look like he had the power to hurt Canelo.

It was a major factor alright. It was surprising to see that Lara had no real response to it. Canelo was teeing off and Lara was just looking to escape and reset rather than counter with anything big.

It was strange to see it because Canelo never had anywhere near that sort of success when going to the body against Trout. Lara hits harder, has a longer reach, and has better handspeed and yet never made Canelo pay a big price for taking those risks. He did probably land the most spectacular shot in almost every round, but it’s the same old problem with the Cubans in close fights. They fight like they’re keeping score and just don’t do enough to put the issue behind doubt.

HBO Road to Golovkin vs Geale. They’re really building Golovkin up as an unstoppable monster now.

Yeah you’ve touched something there with the Cubans, major difference in the cuban’s amateur background to Alvarez turning pro so young. It became increasingly obvious as the fight wore on that Lara couldn’t hurt Alvarez who could absorb a few shots in order to wade in and wing power shots to the body. It’s not entirely surprising that Lara had no response, what can you do when that’s the situation.

Maidana taking the press conference seriously today

He just doesn’t give a fuck.
