The aim of amateur boxing is to hit and not get hit,the aim in professional boxing is to ko your opponent (except Mayweather )

Tyson had an excellent defence. Ali was a brilliant boxer but his defence was nothing special. You really haven’t the first clue about boxing.

In amateur boxing you don’t score for a punch landed when in retreat. You score when offensive. Total different points system.
Only Cruiserweights or heavyweights aim to knock out.
Middleweights up aim for stoppage.
