Brexit hub

I voted against the Lisbon treaty and the EU Fiscal Compact referendum. I also think the Euro, much as it works on a practical level, has been a disaster on an economic level. I class myself as a Euro-sceptic, not against the original peurpose of the EEC or even the EU, but against the economic ideology that underpins it now. But the economic ideology that underpins the Brexiters is far worse.

That’s a world away from wanting to leave the EU.

it would be insane for any Irish person to want to leave the EU, funding, protections in employment law etc, emigration opportunities.

what are the brexiters policies though? they seem to be still in shock at winning and don’t have any that weren’t just electioneering.

Boris just wanted to be a worthy loser and store up the swivel eyed electorate for when Cameron was going to quit.

Send them back, all of them

looking at Corbyn’s own anouncements (on his facebook page at least) since he doesn’t seem too bothered about leaving at all, repeating that the vote must be respected and it’s time to move on.

“This morning I gave a speech about the referendum result, the role the Labour Party will play in the negotiations to leave the EU and what we have learnt from it.
As we begin to negotiate our exit from the European Union we must also debate the Britain we want.
The Labour Party wants a Britain with an economy that provides good jobs in all parts of the country, invests in industry, invests in people and invests in communities.”

“After yesterday’s European referendum, politicians of all parties must listen to and respect the vote. Millions of voters have rejected a political establishment that has left them behind. Communities that have been hardest hit by government cuts and economic failure have voted against the status quo.
The first task is to come together and heal the divisions. Our country is divided and things need to change. Politicians on all sides must respect the decision of the British people”

+1 to that

On labour, the fuck are they at? They are in a good position to tear into the Tories but a handful of cunts who don’t have the support of the membership are trying to settle a score.

It is a failed entity, and has been, since it started putting the markets ahead of its citizens

This is the first opportunity they have had.

It was always going to come.

Corbyn now needs to assert his authority and the sackings indicate that he is doing so.

As I’ve previously said, if it comes to another leadership contest, so be it, but he will win again.

He didn’t seem that bothered about Brexit either when the vote went through - because he really was in favour of leaving Europe.

He doesn’t give a shit about becoming PM. He wants to keep the Labour Party as far to the left as possible.

Labour failed to wield the knife on Michael Foot for too long and need to act now. The moronic right on clowns who like the idea of Corbyn need to grow up and realise that he has to go.

In any other country the Tories would be fucked but are odds on to get back in. Two botched budgets, a Chancellor humiliated over tax credits, a party deeply divided with a PM out the door & half his cabinet to follow- yet nobody takes Jeremy Corbyn seriously as a leader. That vice documentary on him was damning. The court jester.

Deeply flawed, not failed, and a quick look at history will tell you that.

I respect democratic decisions but that doesn’t mean I agree with them and that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be ridiculed.

Tom Watson was the primary reason Corbyn got the leadership.

What’s is actually democratic about the EU mate?

The EU does not respect democratic decisions ergo failed, not flawed

Tom Watson had nothing to do with Corbyn getting the leadership. He’s a backstabbing shit and Corbyn will be well rid of him.

Unreal. There could be a 2nd vote yet, in the next year??

You don’t have a breeze pal.

EU leaders have called for negotiations for UK withdrawal to proceed immediately as per the result of the referendum, that’s respecting democracy - it strongly appears that the ones who don’t want to respect the result are the ones who campaigned for that result such as Boris Johnson and Michael Gove. If one was to be kind, that’s called not having the courage of your convictions, in reality, it’s lily livered cowardice.

Really, mate. What did Tom Watson have to do with Corbyn getting the Labour leadership?

Still waiting, @Tim_Riggins.
