BREXIT thread

Are Sidney and tassoti the same poster?

Doubtful unless labour leavers support it.

Having looked at the numbers I think it will pass by two or three votes

The question is whether there is a bigger number of Labour turncoats than ex-Tory hard remainers

I think there may be

But it is a much worse deal than May’s

Fatigue over the whole issue is a key factor now, which is most unfortunate because it opens the UK up to serious deregulation, worse than with May’s

From that standpoint, you’d think Labour waverers would be less inclined to back it, but I’m doubtful on that

Sam Gyimah is OUT anyway

Maybe it means Northern voters will now have to vote based on more than sectarian prejudice

Be ironic if Catholic anti-abortionists defecting to the DUP got us a hard border

They need to grow up as a society. If deal passes and they decide to burn down their house then so be it. An economic boom awaits NI under this deal. If they regress to their flags and marches shite then fuck them really. This is their chance.

Im inclined to agree. While absolutely nothing is certain , a lot of cards are after falling Boris’s way though. If it’s rejected on Saturday , he will call a GE and claim he had a deal and his hands were tied. The extension will then become a technicality and he could well win it, reverse the Benn act and leave next year without a deal. If he gets it through, he’s a hero and will win a GE and will end Corbyns career .

Who knew the sunny uplands would be the Sperrin Mountains?

Leo knew.

This mooted arrangement isn’t how the Good Friday Agreement is supposed to work

I would strongly disagree that an economic boom awaits NI

There is no certainty over future arrangements

Bertie made that first point on SOR this morning. Majoritarian decision making doesn’t suit Northern Ireland.

Huge opportunities await them if they play it right, particularly in the service industry, but the DUP seem intent on enforcing their squatter rights.

I’d imagine the DUP didn’t accept a opt-out after 4 years using standard Good Friday voting

Of course they didn’t.

Corbyn has been snookered good & proper and by not supporting this his legacy is fucked.

The sheer brass neck of them saying they are the protectors of the GFA that they did everything to sabatoge🤦‍♂️
