BREXIT thread

Yup. A lot of our trucks go through Hollyhead and then across the Channel. They’re going to add bureaucracy, cost and time to traveling with goods checks.

Much like Liam Fox’s fantasies about trading with the Commonwealth, geography is important and Ireland are already in a weaker position than the rest of Europe due to our position.

Ireland should apply for commonwealth status to the US, joining Puerto Rico and the Northern Mariana Islands. The EU is fucked and won’t last another five years, even Germany has become ungovernable.

Puerto Rico don’t even want to be like Puerto Rico mate.

How so? Are you predicting the break up of the EU in 5 years?

97% of Puerto Rican’s voted to become the 51st state. Ireland should join the queue mate.

No, the collapse of the EU.

By collapse, what do you mean?

And how’s that going so far? I presume they are the 51st state now at this stage?

IEconomic collapse. The exit of the UK leaves a huge budget deficit. The eurocrats will try and pass this on to Southern Europe who will tell them to get fucked (Italy already has). During the next recession which will start next year, countries will start to break away as populism gains more support.

No, they are too corrupt so need to get their house in order first. Ireland is a much better fit in that regard.

Ireland has always been closer to Boston than Berlin

On a turnout of 23%. The pro status quo party boycotted the poll.

Generally the people who bother to vote are the ones that matter.

That’s not how boycotts work.

The EU being about the collapse has been said for an awful long while now, just after the Euro.

It’s how democracy works though.

This is the first time a major country is leaving though, and one that contributes much more financially than it receives. Basic economics doesn’t seem to be a strong suit of a lot of posters on here.

they just make stuff up, its fascinating to watch

Interesting but a load of nonsense I reckon.
