No Rog or Donners?

Australia’s David Pocock has sustained a cruciate knee ligament injury and will miss the test series against the British Loins. It’s looking like a clean sweep for our boys even at this early stage.

Australias star player for the british lions tour is a lad that switched to rugby union from AFL 1 month ago and has played 3 rugby union games in his life

Night terrors part 2!

FFS, TASE!

Pretty much bang on. Although would there not be huge concerns with Robshaw as captain after yet another meltdown as a leader when in a tough spot?

Mike Phillips is my dark horse for captain.

i presume Tuilagi, O’Brian, Faletau and O’Driscoll are a representation of how British imperialism has tamed those from the heathens and are now being used by the touring party as an exhibit to deomostrate the good work of Captain James Cook, Oliver Cromwell and other visionaries like Cecil Rhodes .
Paul O 'Connell who was touted as an aspiring MBE in 2009 actually had the privilege of leading the touring party however his general lack of decorum, simplicity and uncouthness let him, his colony and the empire down.

The British Loins has always had a civilising mission, it had in '74 and '80 and it has again with chaps like Tuilagi, Faletau and O’Connell.

I’m planning to read a couple of Niall Ferguson’s books over the next couple of months to get myself in the mood for the tour. And what better day to start his modern classic “Empire” than St. Patrick’s Day?

Ulster legend Bryn Cunningham believes that Andrew Trimble “has put his hand up for the British Loins” with his superb performance at the Royal Dublin Society this evening. “I don’t think Warren Gatland will be too worried about the Six Nations”, added former Bangor Grammar and Dublin University student Cunningham, in his role as expert analyst on BBC 2 NI’s post-match coverage.

I presume there always has been a strong religous ethos at the core of the Britis Lions Sid, We are all aware that Andrew’s alma mater is the Coleraine Academical Institition and that he sacrificed studying phyics to undertake a course in theology at the Belfast Bible college instead. I also read recently that Instonians rugby football, cricket and field hockey club whose membership is closed exclusivley to old boys and girls of the Royal Belfast Academical Institution has provided 2 captains to the British Lions on seperate tours of duty to the colonies.
The presence of Andrew like the Ulstermen before him will now doubt provide a civilising, chivilrous and God fearing mindset amoungst the touring party,

I see some of the Irish rugby media are suddenly advocating Paul O’Connell as captain. Surely after being crocked for most of the last 18 months, he’s unlikely to even make the touring party?

O"Connell as a future OBE is an excellent example of how an uncouth, uneducated and obnoxious simpleton can become servile subject of the crown,
I doubt very much if he will captain the party but he certainly will make a fine exhibit of how the Oirish , like indigenous aborigines have been assimilated into the empire.

Sid, if you are online later could you please provide a treat of the role of a suitable education for a British Lion.
I presume we will see a decent representation of Old Etonians, RBAI old boys and Old Foleyans in your discusion

If Drico gets selected will he invite his good friend Seanie Fitzpatrick as a guest of honour for the tour?

On’y if his other good friend DOB pays for him

He won’t be needing an invite from O’Driscoll. They were talking about the Lions Tour on the Super Rugby last week and Sean Fitzpatrick & Michael Lynagh but indicated that they will be in Australia on tour as part of the Sky team.
