Is there any danger here? Should it spring back in after being pupped or do I need to tie it out?

It will probably seize up again when or if you apply the prick of a handbrake again I’d imagine.

I pulled the cable and it popped off. Drove it out ok with no hand break.

New cable shouldn’t be dear unless you damaged block?

Those beautiful Citreon cars of the 70’s will never be matched on style but unfortunately style was the limit.
