Calling Carryharry

I thought so.

The A6 is a noble car.

Agreed-and that’s a good price but just too big a car for what I’m looking for.

The Prius is a fine car but would you not get yourself a proper care mate?

elaborate

Reliable, efficient, dull as ditchwater, not particularly comfortable.

I would not look positively on a the prospect of a long commute in one.

@carryharry - any opinion on the Hyundai i40?

It looks a noble car anyways.
I like all the new range of Hyundai’s.

Nay. For all the bullshit talk about hydrid’s being economical, they just are not. Better off buying a Petrol car if it’s just City driving.

If you like the styling then no other reason not to purchase one. The older ranges of Hyundai’s didn’t age well with mileage IMO but there new range of cars seem more refined & better finished. The only down point to their range is the price, they are expensive day 1 & are not demanding the resale value of Passat’s or even Mondeo’s.

@carryharry, what do we think of the Alfa Romeo giulietta?

Know nothing about them tbh but one things for sure, they do not have a good resale value within the car trade.

How the jaysus are they not economical?

Is that not a good thing if you are buying a second hand car?*

There are lots of cars out there that depreciate heavily and are very good cars - like an s60, mondeos, etc.

There is a 100k mile A6 posted going for 16k. 16k is enormous money for something that could cough up 3-4k of a repair bill very easily and in 50k more miles will be worthless.

  • I would be very reluctant to buy an Alfa. I certainly wouldn’t spend much on one.

No imminent purchase but maybe in the next year or so. Had caught my eye as a sexy little number. I’ll not be buying a new car. Struck me when you mentioned it with the Hyundai above, does not having a good resale value imply there is good value to be had in purchasing a used model?

People I know who Had them went back to Petrol cars because there was not enough money being saved on fuel. The Hybrid idea is bullshit.
