Unless you are buying new, in which case cars are pretty cheap relatively speaking, cars are expensive right now.

Hundreds of second hand dealers all over the country follow the UK auctions business model, because used cars are relatively scarce in this country. This is changing as more people buy new and trade in.

Unless you are in a mad panic to change, either buy new, or hold off until prices drop.

I have a problem with the rear fog light on my executive hatchback. It’s not working apparently. I didn’t know there was such a thing. The garage I brought it to couldn’t fix it today and explained that there’s a problem with the “multi function box” and it needs a software download to fix it. I think they were telling the truth because they didn’t charge me.

Any chance I could get past an NCT with such a problem? It failed it originally and I asked the guy in the garage if I could just disable the fog lights completely to make them irrelevant for the test but he tells me they’re not optional at the rear.

I’ve a re-test window that expires tomorrow so I guess I’m stuck with booking it again and waiting again and going back to the manufacturer or something, please confirm.

I haven’t the foggiest(!) how to turn the fucking things on. Seems harsh to include them as a requirement.

If you couldn’t figure out how to switch on your headlights would you expect them to drop that as a requirement too?
