Timing chain should in theory never need replacement. If the Chain is properly lubricated it should be okay, poorer oils after long use generally mean more heat & stress on chain.
They stretch and miss time & fuck the engine.

More premium brands use Chain system. Don’t hear of them giving an amount of issues.

Belt system requires replacement & can snap too but probably a better system.

@carryharry Any idea as to when timing belt would be due a change on a 13 Fiesta? 120K on it.

Might be 150,000km
