Players not involved with international teams return to training on Friday.
Donāt know where Ange is at in terms of flying over from Japan, quarantine requirements etc. Think thereās a training camp in Wales and itās been mentioned that he wants to be involved for that. Must check dates.
LEIGH GRIFFITHS hopes to finally thrash out his Celtic future after a positive phone call with new boss Ange Postecoglou.
The strikerās Hoops career is hanging in limbo with the Parkhead club yet to decide whether to activate a 12-month extension or release him on a free.
Griffiths, 30, has been training hard ahead of pre-season as he aims to return in top condition for the new campaign.
And the frontman is desperate for another lifeline at Celtic after fitness and injury issues reduced him to a fringe player in recent years.
Asked if he still hopes to be a Celtic player next term, he told Sky Sports: "I do. I spoke to the manager on Tuesday morning and things seemed positive.
"Weāll have another chat at the beginning of next week when heās out of isolation and weāll take it from there.
"It was a massive thing for him just to give me a phone. He didnāt have to but he took time out his day and gave me his ideas and his plans moving forward.
"So it was a positive chat, we just need to wait until heās out of isolation, weāll have a chat face-to-face and weāll see where weāre at.
āEvery level Iāve played at, Iāve scored. Thereās still a lot to come from me, Iām only 30-years-old and Iāve still got a lot of years left.ā
Every time I read anything about Leigh Griffiths I think about bendy water and beyond the imaginary curve.
Talk now that Edouardās Leicester move has collapsed and he might stay with Celtic for the remainder of his contract.
I think Celtic should really be doing everything to get him to sign a two year extension. Give him a big wage rise to about Ā£50-60k a week and a Ā£25m release clause or something and itās win win for everyone.
Heāll surely just hang on for 6 months and sign a pre contract with someone.
Arsenal allegedly paid Willian a Ā£20m signing on fee last summer when he was a free agent. There is no way any football agent would be advising Edouard to sign a contract for a fairly modest increase in wages and miss out on the chance of a signing on fee next summer.
Lawell and Lennon must be getting to the stage where theyāre losing the club more money than they were making on sales.
Could earn an extra few million by signing a new contract with a very reasonable release clause if he does well.
Likely to earn 20 as a free agent if he pulls his finger out.
Michael Dawsonās nephew seeminglyā¦
Canāt see him being near the first team.
Another Kundai Benyu or Darnell Fisher.
In saying that if Fisher was still here heād probably be our starting right back.
thats his career ruined then
Weāve had some development diddies from England over the past 10-15 years.
That Josh Thompson, Andre Blackman, who was the striker we had from Middlesborough in Strachanās time?
Lennon ruined Luca Connell
Ben Hutchinson
Did many of these lads go on to have much of a career after?
I donāt think so. There were one or two others who did alright in their careers despite being brutal at Celtic. But guys who were higher rated when signing, like Tyler Blackett.
I just canāt see any point at all in signing lads who wonāt compete for first team places. We seem to have signed young lads or journeymen by the bucket load. They get farmed out and are rarely heard of again. Itās all a bit indiscriminate.
