JCB Triumph Hurdle favourite Grumeti was on Tuesday reported lame by Alan King butthe trainer said he was confident the horse will be fine in 48 hours.
Grumeti has landed two Grade 2s in succession and is Paddy Power’s 9-2 favourite for the Triumph.
King told racingpost.com: "Last night he spread his right fore shoe and the toeclip has gone into his foot.
"He’s been poulticed but he’s lame this morning. It will probably take 48 hours to recover but time is on his side and he should be okay.
“I certainly wouldn’t have wanted it to happen this time next week. I thought it better the news was out in the open.”
