Choose your Greatest Irish Sportsperson of all time

You’re fairly positive on your greatest ever stance for Roy Keane considering you haven’t seen most of the others play.

George Best was clearly a far superior football, and he even won a European Cup.

Why exactly are there question marks around Roche but you give Kelly the benefit of the doubt. Only one of the two tested positive in their career - and it wasn’t the guy from Dublin.

There’s little doubt they were both involved in doping, though both were good enough to achieve as much as they did in a drug-free sport.
what are you on about, if they were both involved in doping then they are both cheats. thanks for clearing that up for me.

are you saying that because in your opinion they were good enough without the doping that we should judge them differently than Smith?

No you said Kelly was a good one if he was clean.

You said there were too many question marks about Roche to allow him on the list.

I merely took the trouble of educating you to point out that Kelly failed doping tests during his career so if question marks about Roche prevent his inclusion then Kelly’s history should exclude him from your list.

again, thanks for clearing it up for me.

Yours in appreciation for humor,

GAA player should not be included, People like Roy Keane and Vincent O’Brien made a global impact

Fr Niall Horan made a global impact at the Olympics but wouldn’t include him in it

What?

Irish Dancing is a noble sport.

The Baby is on fire today.

vincent o’brien??? wtf? he trains a horse to run fast - I train my dog to sit & rollover - that doesnt make me a sportsman

It makes you an amateur dog trainer. Kinda like you train dogs for a hobby.

Agree totally with Tasotti and NCC - horse racing? Get the fuck out of here.

Correct me if I’m wrong but was Tassotti not advocating Vincent O’Brien?

Eddie keher.

Possibly, I only skimmed through the post.

Anyone who thinks that putting on a nice, colourful, silky outfit and a hat and riding a FUCKING HORSE around a field is a sport is clearly insane.

And to include lads who ‘train’ horses is beyond a joke.

It’s more pantomine than wrestling.*

 • Wrestling is a sport though.
