Itā€™s a wonder he can post at all. He must have a modified keyboard for those malformed paws he calls hands.

2 rattled lads here.

Next.

ah FFS piles, thatā€™s a non runner completely,
I do not understand why you are trying to justify this shit what an attempt at a ā€œlogicalā€ solution, do u really think fans are going to wait around for five - ten minutes before the word ā€œinvadeā€ flashes up on the big screen, in that intervening period u are going to have absolute pandemonium as wild bogmen will be trying everything in their power to get onto the field.
It should be banned , end of. Anyone who enters the field should be arrested and banned from the stadium like in any other sport.
I suppose you also are a supporter of keeping that ridiculous terrace between the Hogan and Cusack stands for the sake of ā€œtraditionā€ but that probably is worthy of a separate thread.
People here are attacking Cooney when all he is doing is trying to take a zero tolerance attitude to protect referees who are amateurs from been assaulted like what happened last week, the logical thing to do this is to prevent people coming onto the pitch.
Sid made a comment here about English soccer fans but in 1989 post Hillsboro when they removed fencing around the ground how many FA Cup finals or league title presentations ended with pitch invasions and assaults on officials? None that I can remember, maybe someone else can, maybe we should ask ourselves why? I thought all followers of English soccer were mindless yobs who would invade a pitch and attack a Ref at any opportunity.
It would be interesting to explore the psyche of these ā€œfansā€ who actually ā€œinvadeā€ pitches; Why do people need to behave like undisciplined barbarians when their team wins or looses as we saw on the 11th July,? What satisfaction does this puerile act of rebellion give to these people? I think inferiority complex has a lot to do with it, the whole act of ā€œinvadingā€ makes these fuckurs ( mainly rural) feel that they need to announce their presence to the rest of the country and they can behave as they like as its ā€œtheir field and their dayā€ and they donā€™t know any better.

I notice that kev has left himself down once again on this thread which isnā€™t surprising given his recent behavioural issues with a horrendous and personal attack on a well respected poster. Kev appears to be getting increasingly frustrated lately as his complete inability to engage in any form of discussion utilising quick humour or sarcasm is causing him to lash out at other posters, I feel quite threatened by this of late and have actually begun to fear for the well being of my relatives knowing this internet psycho is in such close proximity

Stoke wonā€™t have much of a crowd this season if all their fans are banned for pitch invasions:

likewise at wolves

Hereā€™s one having a go at Lampard

epl runt drags every thread back to the epl

Thatā€™s a well made arguemnt but in fairness on an issue like this Iā€™d prefer to hear from people who have some respect for the majority of GAA followers. You obviously donā€™t and if not actively disliking the majority of them, you definitely think youā€™re superior to them. Thatā€™s obviously going to colour your opinion on this one and make it nearly worthless. But I suppose youā€™re no different to lads like Christy Cooney really.
Still would be almost certain the controlled entry to the pitch would work. I think youā€™re completely misjudging what the vast majority of a GAA crowd is like. A more conservative gathering of thousands youā€™d be hard pushed to find outside Knock.

whats the thrill of going on the pitch?

The grass. Country people like grass.

Thereā€™s no mad thrill to it really. Itā€™s just a tradition. just something you do after your team wins to show support to your team and celebrate.

Why do soccer fans sing songs at games? Why do they shout things at players?

All these things are ridiculous if you really analyse them. If you donā€™t understand it you just donā€™t understand it.

What kind of a pussy are you? I debated, you keep going on with this ā€œiā€™m right your wrong, your all stupidā€ form of debating like flano and ncc go on with, i donā€™t partake in those debates. Others here have shown you up, no need for me to do it.

You probably played hurling and football, but your showing a great misunderstanding of it all time and time again on here. You have traveled and lived out of your county for periods of time, and instead of just getting an appreciation for the different ways people carry on around the world, your one of these insecure idiots who thinks that everything done elsewhere is brilliant and ireland is backward. Your very like KIB in alot of ways, and to be honest i doubt anyone would listen to you at all only you gave a good tip or two here before as you possibly happen to know someone in the racing game.

Anyway, iā€™ve read enough of what youā€™ve had to say, and i donā€™t have much time for your opinion on many matters that interest me, so you neednā€™t worry. You are extremely paranoid though, it must be hanging out with all those Israelis that did it.

could you flesh out those points there in bold a bit Kev, cheers mate,

hereā€™s a lot of patronising going on here which I find rather unnecessary. Constructive posting on the topic would be appreciated and not an attack on the poster

The thing is about the Gah, there is still a kind of father and teenage son relationship between the authorities and in most cases the players, look at the Cork / limerick / clare / Westmeath situations, its not too difficult to draw the analogy between where you have the players like teenage kids asking to stay out late and wanting more lemonade after games and then the various county boards trying to " put them in their place".
This is also seen between the majority of grassroots members especially rural and those in charge of the present CCCC and the GAC if that still exists. Cooney and the board are acting like a secondary school vice principal trying to put some discipline on the kids in the way he was thought, the majority then end up disrespecting themselves and the association by behaving like barbarians in defiance of the master and choose to do it on the most public arena.
Its sad, but sure I suppose thatā€™s what ā€œtraditionā€ gets youā€¦

he is spending an awful lot of time with kev lately
he was getting relationship advice from him or somethingā€¦kev knows the score here apparently

Ban pitch invasions now. Uncomfortable and dangerous for players and officials. ā€œSupportersā€ trying to rob souvenirs such as hurls or helmets or jersies off the players back. Clowns.

If supporters must come on to the grass they should wait till those partaking in the game have been safely cordoned off.

Having the presentation in the middle of the field is a joke. Even FIFA had the presentation in the stand FFS. And the FA still have it in the stand in Wembley.

Cooney is not doing much in the presidency, his campaign to put the club back centre stage has been fairly unimpressive and non existant.

is this true runt?

Thatā€™s fairly hypocritical in fairness, Appendage. I recall yourself and myself going mental on the pitch when we defeated Kilkenny in 2004.
