Clare Gaa 🐐 Thread mark II

Cork win by two. Probably a fair result. Clare forwards never fired.

Clare 0-9 Waterford 0-2 approaching half time in the minor championship

What is it with Waterford when it comes to Clare?

1-16 to 7 now with 10 or so left

We loves our county more

They brought a stellar team to the park one year. Young Galgey came on at half time and did untold despite all the big names

Some of the Clare lads’ striking looked very impressive tonight. A few fine forwards there

Inamona got a fine soft draw

Did whitegate go down and bounce back up recently or did they avoid the drop? And how long have clonlara had an intermediate team/ been intermediate? Nice local fixture v Parteen

Cooraclare are down in intermediate now? They were in a senior final with a young enough team as recently as 2015. What happened there?

A traditional stronghold of football too.

Whitegate have been senior uninterrupted for the bones of the last decade. They are a great side to take a scalp and stay up. Many a big name sleep walked into a relegation semi final against them and lost. Dogged out for a side with a small pick.

Clonlara won the junior a around 2013/2014 and again in 2019. They are a poor enough intermediate side but that is to be expected for a second team. Sixmilebridge are about the only side in Clare who’s second team are of a decent consistent standard at intermediate level.

Might have been last year or the year previous it was looking ominous for White gate. I take it Colm Madden is still going with them? He’s still early 30s I’d say …

It looks ominous for them most years. One of their more promising younger hurlers passed away a few weeks ago.

18 senior hurling clubs is a lot.

It’s complicated :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

Would broadford and smith o briens cut lumps out of eachother if they met or are those days long gone ?

More a less gone at senior level anyway. Broadford’s senior team would be more hurlers than what would have went before they.

The two teams have joined occasionally over the last decade to play minor A and there isn’t much of a rivalry. When SOBs were going well in the 2000s and up senior Broadford we’re intermediate and then they swapped placed for the 2010s so wouldn’t have met in a game of consequence this century id say.

SOB v Scariff and Broadford v Clonlara would be bigger rivalries, although the big brawl in 2007 took a lot of heat out of the broadford Clonlara rivalry which was probably for the best for both teams

Didn’t they make a balls of the relegation play off and couldn’t relegate Clarecastle?

Is Colm Galvin playing for Clonara this year?
