Club Championships 2009

If my clubmate abused me like that during a game, they’d be peeling him off the dressing room wall afterwards. Can’t be good to have that kind of shit going on in the club.

Not sure why you’d pick him, sean is one of the better guys, and would have more class than most of the rest put together. He may not be great on radio, but he is a gent.

I’d say they are so far stuck up their own holes they can’t see that some of them are not up to it anymore. It reminds me of a guy we had a few years ago at home, i was training our senior team and trying to get him back, he was 34-35 at the time. My argument was he could give us 20 great mins every game, his response was it was also stopping a young fella maybe getting 20 minutes experience. Its not exactly the same, but you get the drift, he saw the bigger picture. He still lines out Junior at 39, and is excellent.

Personally i think Cusack, Niall Mac, Timmy Mac, Curran, Jerry O’ Connor should all go at the very least. Gardiner hasn’t shown me much either in last 2 years, and while you have to give an excellent player like him a chance, he is nearing the end of chances. I think Denis Walsh is too weak to be the manager in the present climate though.

I suppose MBB, but we don’t have any senior players at the moment so you wouldn’t know exactly what the story is. One of my fellow Minor selectors is very close to the players, but to be honest i tuned out a long time ago.

There is bad blood alright, but the one person on the Sars team that should be pissed off is Fraggie, and i always see him and Ryan together and there is no way there is bad blood there.

I don’t know how Sars keep it together, they are so mixed up in the whole thing its comical. But they are winning, so that helps.

Well, the opposition were worse on saturday, well one player was, and he got a flake yesterday i believe, long time coming too.

To be honest Kev I mentioned Sean og as he is one of the older members of the team, not because of any personal dislike. Would have more time for him than the likes of Cusack, the twins or especially Gardiner who I find odious for his behaviour on and off the field.

I would agree with you on Cork nearing a clearout but that is unlikely under the current management IE Cusack, Gardiner and co. Denis Walsh seems to be a puppet which is a shame as he seems an alright sort.

Clare SFC quarter Final Draw

K.I.B. v O’Currys
Doonbeg v Cooraclare
Kilrush v Miltown/ Doora Barefield/ Lissycasey
Kilkee v Ballyvaughan/ Wolfe Tones/ Ennistymon

Winners of top two play 1 semi, winners of bottom two play the other

A KIB v Miltown final would be some sport

Who’s in the relegation battle? I heard Kilmihill were struggling?

And to think they beat the now Cork county senior finalists St. Finbarrs last year.

Ya the two clubs they beat in the Munster championship have excelled at senior, while they have gone backwards.

To quote a lad from up that way “I’ve never seen lads to take to the beer like it”

Ya, happened to us when we won Junior Football, the best chance we had of winning Intermediate was probably the first year up, only fellas ruined it with going on the tear.

If your getting promoted though to any level you nearly always need to be adding very good young fellas, otherwise it goes stale easily enough.

Sometimes Clubs get promoted, have a good run at the Inter Club and at the end of it, lads who were border line retirement knock it on the head. Can see it happening in Laois this year.

The Heath won the JFC last weekend, fine team, but a few former senior players on it who I doubt will hang around for IFC. Whereas the team they beat would be a young side who would push on at IFC, but jsut didnt have the cuteness of The Heath fellas. 3 lads playing with Laois SFC medals, hard to discount that.

Is the final being played in Carron this year?

Basically the Clare football championship has made no progress really since the start of the year!
Thats alot of teams still left, a few of them hurling as well. How does this happen to a county out of most things (especially football) for a long time?

Who cares football in Clare is a joke…

The players, the clubs and interested gaels from around the county and country.

KIB/Kilkee final I’d say. Some fall from grace for Liscannor. County finalists to bottom of the group. I’d say they’ll be headed for junior once a few of the Considines retire.

:clap::clap::clap:

for shame pukey, for shame.

Colin Lynch would have a tear in his eye after that one.
(tear in his eye, as in small droplet of moisture, not tear in his eye, as in a scratch of the cornea)

Schoolboy error from T_E, even the great Colin Lynch has given up on football in the county…He hasn’t togged for Lissycasey in nearly 2 years

nonsense.

he has his county medal, and i’m sure he appreciates it.

and it’s no coincidence that lissycasey’s demise dovetailed with himself and tadgh kelly retiring.

must try harder.

Colin had three choices, plough on with the hurling, plough on with the football or do both…he chose the hurling as he realised that he was at nothing with the football…

I don’t think anyone in lissycasey would begrudge him giving upp the football to prolong his hurlinmg career…he is still lording it at club level for kilmaley
