Club Championships 2009

I believe their meeting with Nenagh earlier in the year was fairly tasty;)

You should have said nothing you Jonah

if ye arent confident of beating conahy or glenmore ye have no business talking about winning the inter this year…think freshford may be the ones to beat if they can keep from falling out with each other this year…

i aint from the rower

Could any of the Cork lads on here give a lowdown on C.I.T…Are they made up of lads from all around the country or just lads from intermediate/junior clubs in Cork…who are their main men?

EVENING HERALD DUBLIN SFC SEMI-FINALS

Ballyboden St Endas v Kilmacud Crokes

St Marys, Saggart v St Judes or St Oliver Plunketts Eoghan Ruadh

Games to be played in Parnell Park on Friday/Saturday October 2/3…

surprise…surprise…the ‘open’ draw keeps plunketts and crokes apart…

Put up their team/squad there Puke, and I’ll be able to tell you. They are almost all from Cork though, if I remember correctly.

Bad form out of the Cork county board to schedule the Cork Senior Football final the same time as the women are playing in an All Ireland final. All the other counties involved on Sunday (including Limerick) have either deferred their games or are playing them on the Saturday.

And they didnt, Clough Ballacolla face Ballinakill in one semi final, Portlaoise face Castletown in the other this weekend.

As for the Football Quarter Finals last weekend, here’s how they panned out.

St Josephs v The Heath
Two former kingpins of Laois football but are also rans of recent years. The Heath will be on a high after winning the Junior Football Championship and League double in the last 7 days. A Club going in the right direction. Joes on the other hand seem to just tumble from one injury crisis to the next. Still depending on Garvan, Kelly and Higgins and truth be told all are walking wrecks. The Heath for me.

The Heath lead 4 points to 3 at half time, and had Chris Begin miss a penalty in the first 2 minutes. Joes came back in the second half with scores from Noel Garvan, Joe Higgins and Tom Kelly to win 7 points to 4 in one of the worst games of football you’re ever likely to see. The Heath messed this one up badly, but neither side are particularly good.

Portlaoise v Portarlington
Battle of the towns, but thats where the comparision ends. Portarlington will be on a high after winning the MFC a week ago, but they’ll need these players to mature very quickly and already are depending on one or two of them. Great work being done at underage level, but Portlaoise will win this with 8 to spare.

Zach Tuohy the stand out player here, think he scored 1-10 for Portlaoise with the goal as sweet as you’re ever likely to see. He’s going to be some loss to Laois. When I think of Colm Begley at 6, Zach at 11 and Conor Meredith at 14 for Laois it makes me want to cry. Portlaoise won by 11 points, but Port put up some fight in a high scoring open game, Portlaoise will always win those shootouts.

Arles Kilcruise v Mountmellick
Mountmellick were manys hope to upset Portlaoise this year (the other is down below) but just seem to be a team of hulking beasts with little concentration on football skills. They have the footballers, less time in the gym and more concetration on the skills might be in order. Kilcruise are motoring nicely this year, the more liked of the two Arles’ in recent times, I fancy them to take Mountmellick in this game if they can get a foothold over Kevin Meaney in midfield.

Draw match in this one, decent battle played unbelievably on the Sunday night of the All Ireland so I didnt see any of it. Replay tonight, I’m sticking with Mountmellick, although considering the semi final draw, I’m hoping Kilcruise win it! See semi final draw below.

Arles Killeen v Emo
Killeen, (or Killeenski as they’ve become known due to their recruitment drives of recent times) will have 2 suspended players back for this game which should release Kingston back to his mosst dangerous position of full forward. Emo are the form team in Laois this year, even if they are coming from Div 2 as I’ve said before. Unbeaten all year, and this is a game they will relish. Emo to cause an upset here.

No upset, although Emo came close, Killeen won it by 3 points with Donie Brennan pulling the strings from deep. Great footbpasser, just a pity he’s not a foot taller.

Semi Finals
Portlaoise v St Josephs
Arles Kilcruise or Mountmellick v Arles Killeen

Needless to say we’re all hoping for a semi final between the two Arles’s

What the fook? Postpone the county football final because a bunch of dykes are making a show of themselves in Croke Park. Get a grip, Runty.

33 minutes. Took longer than I thought

Can’t even find a Fitz team for ya Puke. But they are all from Cork nearly, bar maybe two. All from Junior and Intermediate clubs. Off top of my head they have John & Lorcan McGloughlin, Aidan Walsh all from Kanturk, they have a couple of Inniscarra lads, Ross Cashman from Kilbrittan, Eoin Dillion from Milford, Cian Barry from St. Vincents. After that i’m kinda lost. But they are good, very skilful and fast, much like Sars, it could be massive scoring.

Disgrace, 3rd year-in-a-row. They really fucked the Camogie team though, they made Newtown play the Barrs at the same time as that final, there was 4 girls playing who had brothers playing in the County Semi.

It goes back to an article in the paper and comments made at a CB meeting about much better the women ran their organisations. They didn’t take to it well.

Are you gay Bandage, because you seem to go out of the way to show how male you are sometimes. Supposidly a sign of gayness.

Calling other people gay is the height of gayness

Cal: You’re gay now?
David: No, I’m not gay, I’m just celibate.
Cal: That sounds gay. I mean, I just want you to know this is like the first conversation of like three conversations that lead to you being gay. Like there’s this, and then in a year it’s like “Oh you know, I kinda wanna, ya know, get back out there but I think I like guys” and then there’s the big, “Oh I’m, I’m a g-gay guy now”.
David: You’re gay for saying that.
Cal: [Laughing] Oh, I’m gay for saying that.
David: You know how I know you’re gay?
Cal: How? How do you know I’m gay?
David: Because you macramed yourself a pair of jean shorts.
Cal: You know how I know you’re gay? You just told me you’re not sleeping with women anymore.
David: You know how I know that you’re gay?
Cal: How? Cuz you’re gay? And you can tell who other gay people are?
David: You know how I know you’re gay?
Cal: How?
David: You like Coldplay.
[Cal loses first match; screen cuts to video game footage of Baraka tearing Sub-Zero in half]
Cal: Aw, shit. Ow. Dude, at least leave my torso alone.
David: You know how I know that you’re gay?
Cal: How?
David: You like the movie “Maid in Manhattan”.
Cal: You know how I know you’re gay?
David: How?
Cal: I saw you make a spinach dip in a loaf of sour dough bread once.
David: You know how I know that you’re gay?
Cal: How?
David: You have a rainbow bumper sticker on your car that says, “I love it when balls are in my face.”
Cal: That’s gay?
David: God damn it!
[David loses second match and smokes a bowl; screen cuts to video game footage of Sub-Zero’s fatality]
Cal: I’m ripping your head off right now. It’s off, and now I’m throwing it at your body. (shouts) Fuck you!
David: Arr.

Your gay.

 :guns:

What are the other signs, Kevin? If you list them, I can tick them off and we’ll see where we stand.
