No, I think they are all ok.
Blessed really. It was their car that went out of control and collided with the taxi. I don’t know what factors were involved in the accident but the weather was pretty bad around here yesterday.
I have been reliably informed that the bar in a clubhouse of a leading Dublin club erupted when news filtered through of Monaleen’s victory over Fr Caseys.
They were all on at the fancy prices by all accounts
Really?
Crazy stuff, there was no way Monaleen could have been fancied over Caseys.
It’s the biggest shock in recent years.
I see UCD are powering through Dublin again this year. Some good footballers on that team as well, Kingston and O Loughlin of Laois, is Lyng still there lads? They have that Westmeath wonderkid Heslin also, they’ll be hard bet.
I’m not sure if Lyng is still studying there but he’s abroad in the USA for the summer as far as I know.
He was there up to the start of the summer, so I presume he’ll still be eligible to play in the Dublin SFC. He’ll be an addition when he returns so.
With Stephen Lawlor midfield for Vins, this means there is still plenty of chances of Laois lads to win a SFC in Dublin this year following Parnells unfortunate exit.
Dublin SF quarter final draw
St Vincents vs Ballyboden
Plunketts vs Lucan Sarsfields
Na Fianna vs Kilmacud
UCD vs St Brigids

Here are the local Cork GAA odds from Cashmans:
http://www.cashmans.ie/othersports/othersports1.html
Midleton at 5/1 and Tracton at 7/1 look half decent imo - Eire Og at 5/2 as well in the football.
Relegation matters to be decided in Limerick football this weekend.
Claughan take on NCW on Saturday in Killmallock.
NCW have been unlucky in their games so far this year and will be none too happy to find themselves in this situation after a year which promised so much back in April. Claughan have been here, done that and bought the t-shirt many times in the past 10 years and have managed to hang in there every time but I feel this is the year their luck finally runs out. NCW by 5.
CIT at 6’s is a good one. Douglas isn’t a bad outside bet at 33/1, they have showed good form this year, obviously as the odds suggest its a long shot.
Eire Og - Not a chance IMO. Ok they have Goulding, Hallissey and Sheehan, but their defence is well dodgy and they don’t have a dominant midfield, unless Sheehan plas there. Kildorrery, Macroom & Castletownbere are all better teams than them. We played against all 5 teams left this year, and i would even put Cill Na Matra ahead. They have money on themselves and their marquee names has them at those odds. They are a 10/1 shot for me.
Were you at Youghal - Tracton? Heard Tracton were every bit as good and there is no reason they wouldn’t win the replay. Thing is, if they get to the final, its open season. That becomes a Tipp-KK, Celtic-Rangers game then, anything can happen. The rivalry is massive. Good bet alright Turenne.
Aghada & Kilbrittan i’d say are good bets in the Intermediate A Hurling. Kilworth are only hanging in there, but so many teams are winning championships now after losing early rounds that you’d never know. Wouldn’t touch anyone there.
Junior Hurling has no value at all.
Senior Football - Any one of the last 8 could win it, so the value is in Clon, Carbery Rangers and Ballincollig. nemo are obviously favourites, but are beatable.
Premier Intermediate is Nemo or Newcestown, nobody else i think. Poor value there.
Nemo/Nemo at 10/1 isn’t a bad bet actually. They’ll make both finals more than likely.
I was at Youghal/Tracton alright - my impression was that Youghal played beneath themselves and Tracton above themselves and I have the feeling that Youghal will win the replay by 3-4 points. Still, Tracton have some very nice hurlers and I doubt there is much between the three teams left in the competition - 7/1 seem like very generous odds to me.
A good weekend of hurling coming up in Galway, unfortunatly I am away for the next week.
Kinvara V Craughwell Prel. Qtr. Final (Our lads did fcuk all training this summer… Craughwell)
Castlegar V Tynagh-Abbey-Duniry Prel. Qtr. Final (Farragher will run amuk)
St Thomas V Clarinbridge Prel. Qtr. Final (Could be a great game, Richie Murray worth watching)
Sarsfields V Liam Mellows Prel. Qtr. Final (Mellows will earn this)
Turloughmore V Athenry Relegation
Carnmore V Killimordaly Relegation
In out and out hurling terms and ability Ballymarytle are better than the other 2.
Fair enough - how would they (B’Martle) be at U-21 level?
2nd favourites for the county behind Midleton i’d suggest, probably just ahead of City Champs/Blarney/Inniscarra. Newcestown are very good as well, its an extremely strong County U-21 this year, really good teams all over. I dare say Newtown are handy as well.
Who would be their stand-out players? Surely Na Piarsigh will give them a decent crack tonight anyway.
Thought I’d drop into the Kinsale/Mayfield & Na Piarsigh/Ballymartle double header as the Newtown game tomorrow clashes with some Junior C final.
The news you’ve all been waiting for, Kilkenny Southern Junior championship semi final draw:
Piltown v Kilmacow; Sunday, 5pm throw-in. Carrigeen
John Lockes (Callan) v Thomastown; Sunday, 5pm throw-in. Hugginstown
I’m going to say Piltown by 5 pulling up.
Callan to win by a score over the Blues.
Darren McCarthy, Michael O’ Mahoney, Shane Corry, and another McCarthy fella. O’ Mahoney was Corks most exciting underage star not that long ago, not sure what happened. Don’t think he’s even on their Intermediate team now.
Na Piarsaigh are very good as well one would imagine. I’d say 50-50 without having seen Piarsaigh this year, but i know alot of the players they have. Didn’t even know that game was on.
Mayfield will eat Kinsale i’d say. Kinsale were good at the football, but Mayfield will have far too much hurling for them
